Unless you need the portability, I'd go for a 17" screen. I do a lot of gamaing and I wish I'd gone bigger. Dell Studio 17's are a good deal at the mo and they all have the superb ATI 5650.

You say it's normally no less than £950 - it's at £799 at Curry's anyway, down from £899 so they aren't even pretending it was over £900. A quick google price check shows a few companies I've never heard of selling it for over £900 and it's normally in the mid to high £800's.

Having said all that I've added heat because it's the cheapest around and the specs of the others might be lower as the model has many variations.

Now I just need to find a decent 15" laptop that is as thin as a 15" macbook pro! Harder than I expected :(

I’d rather pay a £100 more (less with Quidco at 7%) and get a Dell Studio 17 with a faster Core i5-540M, 1080P 17.3” TFT and Bluray; not so portable admittedly.
