Another company who rests on its laurels, copies low prices from other retailers and has nothing market leading about it anymore. Good cs is a plus but it needs to start setting the pace again otherwise it will finds itself in trouble

amazon doesn't need to impress us, and it's not going to be 'in trouble' any time soon.
every person I know did at least half of all their xmas shopping on amazon.

amazon hardly really changes it prices it just goes about matching prices.

They seem be changing / matching prices a lot.
Was watching a 10" Linx tablet and it was £159 a couple of days ago. Then £148 up to around 2pm, and then back to £159.
The Sonicare toothbrush I bought from them was going up by around £5 a day.

I bought the Victorinox Rescue Knife. A crackin price for it at £36.

Other than that there isn't too much else appealing today.

The kindle book deals are worth a look.

I thought the saying was "eat lightning...crap thunder".

Amazon clearly have got it the wrong way round where the Lightning is concerned.

And why would a retailer not need to impress or do people just mindless buy from there despite them being more expensive than others on a reasonably consistent basis ?

retailers advertise and run promotions for awareness, show me a person who doesn't already know all about amazon, and I'll show you a person who has lived under a rock the past 10 years.

okay okay you're probably right - yes amazon is the most successful online retailer on the planet, yes their profits increase exponentially every year with no sign of slowing down - you're right, they're probably in big trouble because their boxing day sale disappointed you. maybe you don't like amazon but the numbers speak for themselves, they're a success.
