Bought one during Black Friday for £39. Don't have a time machine to buy it again at that price now. :p
So this being the lowest available as of today with 2 years JL guarantee it's an excellent deal. Heat added <3
I rooted mine and flashed CM12. Now the device is very smooth and fast. Highly recommend.

Is this my best option for a sub £50 tablet? Primary school kids, Spotify, YouTube, Homework browsing? I wanted the Android OS ideally.

Having real trouble finding a reliable guide on how to do this from Windows, can't find the ADB tools and stuff.
Have you got a good link with instructions and links please?
