Great deal for people like my parents who buy Radio Times every week. Are there many people who still do?
Not many - only around 660,000.

It probably will be but reading about the ads they only appear on the front screen when you put the kindle to sleep (so ad instead of art) and on the bottom of the screen when you are on the home screen. I dont think they are on when you are reading from what I have seen http://www.cio.com/article/2371022/peripherals/why-you-want-a-kindle-with-ads-instead-of-amazon-s-ad-free-e-readers.html

As per the other post, I have one and the adverts are just a screen saver, so hardly make any difference, they don't appear when you are reading.

Down a tad from the 9,000,000 in the fifties ... hence this offer ;)

EXACTLY!, lol + the 50's were also wayyyyyy before the whirlwind that is technically the Digital Highway ... so in the fullness of time, a much less need for the physical paperwork of anything really? (unfortunately), even our good old Libraries have inevitably suffered a similar fate in due course ...

But yeh, due to such things as that of your above, such stuff's are blatantly due to resurrect themselves from the ashes every once in a while? (which of course is good for consumer's like ourselves). :-)

This is purely anecdotal but has worked for me having bought a kindle with ads. After about a week I called amazon and told them that I didn't realise how annoying the ads are and that I'd like to pay the difference to remove ads. They were able to remove ads from my device remotely and didn't even want to charge me a penny - I have a feeling this might be general policy rather than a gesture of good will, but could be wrong.

Can I cancel the sub renewal at any time, or do I need to wait until nearer expiry?

I emailed them and just got this response.
"I can confirm at this time it is the Kindle Fire being advertised with the Radio Times. "

Just looking on Wikipedia - I'm disappointed if that is the case.
The Radio Times advertises this as a "Kindle eReader" - from what I can gather, this is neither a kindle nor an ereader.

It appears that the brand Kindle was dropped from the 2015 version and it is now just a "Fire" - so unless this is an earlier, discontinued version, then it is not a kindle.
It is also a tablet and not an ereader (most important I presume in relation to battery life)

This is not what they're advertising in the Radio Times! Here's the advert in case it's of use to people:

If you are moving within the same region then you can just update your address. However if the move would require a different regional edition you have to cancel and resubscribe.

OP .. I'm on your link here:

https://www.buysubscriptions.com/print/radio-times-magazine-subscription?&contenttype=content&utm_campaign=RT-page-week-15_RTP1517_Brand%3fawc%3d1866_1492126708_65e056f87b589f2cf04e0921e76c1438&utm_source=Page&utm_medium=offline&promo=RTP1517

And on it it asks: "Got a promotion code?"

Does anyone have any Promotional Codes for this?, to perhaps make it/this a little cheaper?, or ..... thanx. :-)

The promotional code's already built into the link (it's the RTP1517 bit) I'm afraid - so there's no further discount to be had. :)

Excellent - thanks for that :)
I've replied to the email I got asking them to double check what they told me :)

They've been pretty slow replying to me, but I've had this response today:

Thank you for your email regarding the offer of a Kindle e-reader with the Radio Times.

I have been told that, although the Kindle is still called an e-reader, it can also be used as a tablet.

If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

That was their response after checking the specific offer code RTP1517.

I'm getting worried again that this is going to be an Amazon Fire and not a Kindle eReader (as advertised).

If anyone receives their ereader/tablet, please post here to put my mind at rest (or not)

If I recall well, the Kindle was due to be shipped out to you after 28 days or something?.

Which has more or less just transpired, etc?.

This week going, it should hopefully drop ... :-)
