Where, and when did you find this offer?

I have had this card since last year when this offer was available and had the £15 credit as well.
But recently they wrote to me saying that this card is going to be a standard HBOS card with no more Amazon reward scheme. So I canceled my card.

It popped up when I went to go through checkout.

I am struggling to post a link that works though

This is an MBNA card. I guess Amazon realised how good the Play.com credit card was to the latter company's business. MBNA cards can be difficult to get approval for. I think they are one of the lenders with tougher criteria.
#14
Its issued by MBNA which is part of the bank of America.
#15
Take note HUKDers that MBNA, a year or eighteen months back whacked up rates from 14-16% p.a. to 30-35% for those who they thought were trapped with them - I paid them off at that point and haven't been back since.

The purpose of a credit card is convenience, not for actually taking out credit. Personal loans and overdraft are much cheaper than credit cards. To me, interest rates on credit cards don't really matter because they are just academic. I'll take the £15 and run :)
