This is the normal price.

Great price but don't see why you can't have it for that price per household instead of per machine? Stopped me purchasing another dot for the bedroom

This is the normal price.

For those with an Echo. Normal price is £7.99 a month. I personally think it's a great offer and went for it myself recently.

Thanks for posting :)

Agreed. I'd do it for household, but I'm not paying for the 6 devices we've got

So this is the normal price for those that own an echo or dot? But you can only use it on one device?

£3.99 is the normal price for 1 dot/echo and £7.99 allows you to stream to all your dots/echos

It's been this price since the year 'dot'.......see what I did there ?

its £9.99 if you want to stream to other dots and echos called amazon music individual plan. its £7.99 if you are a prime customer

I'm beginning to think Amazon prime sucks big time. You sign up for a premium service, they deliver your parcels late then when you want to play a song it says "Here's a sample of X" and tries to get you to sign up for this. Then you want to watch Homeland Season 6 and it wants to charge you £3 per episode....

My Echo didn't understand when I asked.

Its very limited with the £3.99 Dot/Echo as its extremely hard to find the music you want, there is no App use at all so unless you know the name of the exact song and artist I find it difficult to find what I want. At least with Spotify (or the £7.99 Amazon unlimited through the App) its easier to browse and find the song you want.

You can use the Amazon music app. But be warned, it's worse than iTunes...

This is only a product of Amazon getting greedy, prime music was great before this came along. Only a matter of time before they do the same with the video service :(

No you cant, not on the £3.99 Dot/Echo plan. You can only use your voice on 1 Dot/Echo device.

Not at all - the only thing you don't get is app use. You can ask Alexa to play any specific song, or artist, or just say latest album, or genre, or playlists etc etc.

There's an absolute wealth of music commands that can be used.

If a song, album, artist, genre or playlist is not in My Music, Alexa searches the Amazon Music catalogue or samples from the Digital Music Store when available.

Basic Music Commands
To do this... Say this...

Adjust the volume
"Volume up / down."
"Set volume to level [number]."

Hear details about the song currently playing
"What is this?"
"Who is this?"
"What song is this?"
"Who is this artist?"
"When did this song/album come out?"

Stop the song currently playing
"Stop."
"Pause."

Play songs or tracks
"Play."
"Resume."

Set or cancel a sleep timer
"Set a sleep timer for [x] minutes / hours."
“Stop playing music in [x] minutes/hours.”
"Cancel sleep timer."

Go to the next or previous song*
"Next."
"Previous."

Loop the music queue**
"Loop."

Shuffle songs**
"Shuffle."
"Stop shuffle."

Repeat songs**
"Repeat."

*Not supported: TuneIn.
**Not supported: TuneIn, Spotify Premium and Amazon Stations.

Personally I think It's a superb deal if you just want to use it on an Echo or a Dot, and certainly once the Sonos integration is complete.

It was a gift I don't want to be paying out every month for music I can listen to anyway by turning on a radio or youtube. It seems to have little purpose without subscriptions
