Read the amazon reviews- one is from a doctor who says,
"I am a doctor with an interest in blood pressure. I bought one of these for my own home use. It is easy to use and accurate, so long as you get the sensor (indicated by the arrow on the cuff) right over the 'brachial artery', the artery that runs down the front surface of the elbow on the inner side. You should be able to feel it with your fingertips. This is a really useful tool for monitoring your own blood pressure."

Its from a popular manufacturer

I bought a semi manual (have to inflate cuff yourself) a few years ago for £10 iirc, from Lloyds pharmacy. Good to have in the house & check your BP every now & then.

Compact one gives no indication of cuff size, the other one linked to gives standard size - up to 32cm
So my suspicion would be an average woman or SMALL man would find this suitable. Wrong cuff size gives duff readings unfortunately :-(

Extra Omron cuffs are listed but that puts your price up.

Other places allow you to get the right cuff size straight off
eg http://www.lloydspharmacy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1008&storeId=90&productId=15556&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=18360&top=&top_category=18352&fromPage=&hotspot_prefix=ELECTRICALS

But that's not an Omron one, and measurements might be less accurate, but that said, it's all about monitoring a trend... get your BP taken accurately at hospital or surgery, and in between you will be able to see if it is varying much.

What on earth are you wittering on about it comes with a medium size cuff as do most if not all other (Omron) monitors, you need to measure your arm circumference and decide it is fits or not but it aint a bad deal just because the cuff doesnt fit!

I didn't say it was.
It is a good price.
Just warning people to buy the right size cuff, which is probably going to be more than 10 quid extra. for a large proportion of the population.
The other option is buy a cheap one with the right size cuff from scratch, but it isn't a "brand," like this one

Unfortunately accurate blood pressure readings will do nothing for ill tempered outbursts :-(

Hold on just cooling down blood pressure a tad high ;-)

Ive just measured my arm at 30cm and Im quite big so there must be some real big fatties out there

I bought one of these to replace one that had to be pumped up manually. The new one works perfectly and the readings appear to be accurate. The cuff can be adjusted to fit all but extreme arm sizes. It’s more pleasant to use than the manual type and probably more accurate because the pump up process if quicker and less stressful. It’s now cheaper than I paid and this is definitely a hot deal.

Well, among those with high blood pressure, definitely. It's probably the No.1 reason for Hypertension!

I suppose old people with lost muscular development will be OK with this size too, I have measured the arm size of the 3 men in my household, and it would only fit one... he is 5"6" and about 9st. Me, I am disabled and walk with crutches, so I have huge muscular upper arms as a result, so would probably need the extra large size. I actually use a wrist machine, but it requires a lot of care in use to get reliable figures, which an average person might not be so meticulous with - keeping arm and wrist height level with the heart. Seems to tally well with my GP's machine done this way though.
