Amazon Prime - Free 30 day trial is back!!!!

Someone highlighted this a couple of months ago and many of us missed the offer. I just went and picked two items on the Amazon site and I was offered the "Amazon Prime" free trial. For 30 days, I can order whatever I want and get next day delivery. After that, I can have the service for £49.99 a year. Of course you can cancel prior to the 30 day period, so there's no real committment until the end of the trial!

Grab it while you can - great offer!

Never realised it went away.

Just ordered something and it came up on order screen to get prime and get free delivery for a month as trial.
I was thinking of putting a calendar reminder but then found in your account you can take off auto-renew from it.

Its user specific - not a global offer.... they either offer it to you, or they don't.At least that was the case last time.

This is a great service and my trial just ended there on Sunday - although I nearly forgot to cancel it & almost incurred the £50 annual fee!!!!!

My trial is finishing tomorrow, and I'm definitely cancelling. Have only used it once! It's also a pain as they send everything signed-for recorded delivery, and as we're never in during the day, you can only order anything on a Friday to avoid yet another slog to the post office depot.

Not sure if it is user specific cause I can see it in my account and have only been using Eb for hardly a month now

but nice one, voted hot

i've used the trial and everything has been sent out first class delivery - no recorded or signed for service.

:? I only ordered a £6.49 book and it was sent next-day signed-for delivery.

Used the trial and subscribed as was excellent. Especially good for those saturday deliveries, even by courier. If you order 20 plus items a year and wish to take advantage of some of the bargins for below £15 worth investing in. Its a no brainer though for a free month.

still not been offered free trial :-(

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but once you have Prime you can set it up for four other family members for free

I've used my trial 3 or 4 times and everything is special next day delivery.

Might keep it after the trial, got some great bargains lately for a couple of quid that otherwise wouldn't have been very cheap with delivery.

Signed for can be a pain - as instead of finding what you ordered on the hall floor - you need to go to the sorting office to get it.

This means getting out of bed on a Saturday morning.

is it available for only items sold by Amazon? or does it also extend to 3rd party sellers?

REMEMBER TO TURN OFF AUTO-RENEW!

It's in the account settings. No brainer. Hot.

Only Amazon.

I've been using it for 2 weeks now - and not one item has been a signed for one. Even the £130 worth of jewellery I ordered yesterday came today normal first class not signed for. But it's not been bad really especially with the 80% off on certain things - so basically stocked up with jewellery for the girlies at Xmas at next to nothing of the original RRP with free delivery.

You can only sign up for the trial Amazon Prime once per household.
#20
You can select First Class delivery at the checkout and it doesn't come recorded.

Amazing service. Super-quick. No need to sign for anything. Recommended - and I might even pay for it after my trial has expired.
How amazing is it to see a book you want and have it in your hands the next day?

i was disapointed with amazon prime, i ordered a few things and none came next day as promised (only marginally quicker than the free delivery i used before),perhaps because i am in n.ireland but this was not made clear when signing up,glad i didnt pay for the service now

I am in Northern Ireland too, and everything came next day. Sometimes it's Citylink's fault that they don't deliver when they're supposed to, i.e. Nextday.

My trial finished last week and I have paid for it to continue.

The service is superb I ordered at least 10 things throughout my free trial and every single one came either next day special or city link. You can order up to 6pm and still have it next day.
It is very rural where I live and the postie will leave any items in the greenhouse or if they fit he puts them through the letterbox!!

Since I most ordered books/CD's and small items I had everything the next day - have a word with your postman, most would rather put something through and sign on your behalf!

This is not a deal as it is done by a program to pick people randomly based one something on the past purchase as i have never got the offer asked amazon and that is what they said, it never went away just that the OP meets the criteria now.
#32
Yeah excellent service but unfortunately not worth the money, worth getting the free trial tho when you want/need something urgently.
#33
Pooey. That really takes the sheen off the fact I've paid £49 Prime for a year.

Voted hot.

Is there anyway to find things that qualify for free postage only
#35
i took up the trial offer last Thursday.parcel hadn't arrived by Friday dinnertime so phoned Amazon up to be told it had left delivery office and been taken to a post office-who would deliver it.by 4.30 it still hadn't arrived and Amazon then gave me a different story-then told me it would be here Monday ( yesterday).i certainly won't be paying for a year's subscription to it.

is there any like pound cd's you can buy with it
#37
Yea i was the one introducing the offer;-) Thanks for saying the offers back!

I just done this earlier today! All I can say is Brilliant! I wanted to buy a new Keyboard/Mouse bundle, but was put off by the incredibly long "super saver" estimated delivery date and also the price of even first class delivery. So I signed up to Amazon prime, ordered the Wireless Laser Logitech Desktop with no delivery charge at 1.30pm, it was then dispatched at 4.00pm, and should now be here tomorrow!

I got a new camera from Amazon last week and thought I would sign up for the prime trial... Was sent 1st class even though it had the item listed as being eligible for 'prime' which from what I understand should be a next day delivery service. Gave it a second try on a battery for the camera (again, a prime eligible item) - again...sent 1st class and not recorded or next day.

Gonna order something small next week just to test the service... if it's another 1st class one then it's definately getting cancelled. If I can wait ~2/3 days for 1st class most of the time I can wait 5 days for super saver... Prime is only of value to me if im actually getting the items next day recorded.

What a lot of people don't realise is that all items Amazon send out on by first class or next day delivery (and possibly others as well) by Royal Mail are allocated a tracking number which records progress up to the sorting office which is reponsible for the final delivery.

This applies even for items which don't have to be signed for by the recipient.

If you have ordered something which hasn't arrived on the day you expected, get Amazon to call you straight back and ask them for this number. Although they will probably offer to check progress for you, once you have the relevant number you can enter it on Royal's Mail's website, and check it out for yourself.

I ordered something recently, which wasn't delivered on the due day, although the Royal Mail website showed that it had left my local depot and was out for delivery... but unfortunately they had given it to the wrong postman! All ended hapily however, as they phoned me as soon as he returned to the depot, and even waited for my wife to drive over to collect it... luckily only a 3 mile trip!

This of course was all the fault of the Royal Mail rather than Amazon!
