Like a condom these things, the glass on the iPad is far harder than any plastic you may put on it, and it spoils the experience of interaction in my opinion.

Not voted as I understand if you want one of these 1.99 is a very good price.

I can afford this, even if i cant afford the ipad to go with it.

as a new owner of an Ipad - I would suggest an inexpensive case from Amazon (£6-7) that serves as a stand and allows you to use the screen "as nature intended" and then protect it when you close the flap on the case.

are there any of these for laptop screens, anyone know

Not only is the iPad glass harder than the plastic protector, the glass is far harder than the aluminium back of the iPad. The back scuffs easily, but i saw a video on YouTube of some PC World guy scratching the glass with a nail - nothing. Scratch proof.

If any HUKD members try this and post the video, I'll give you a quid!!!

Already seen some with small scratches to the screens. They're not scratch proof so misinformation isn't going to help.

Screen protectors are ideal for anti-glare (although not all help) and to make the screen more tactile. It smudges way too easily when used normally.

ordered for DVD player, needed some protection before kids scratch it..:)

Complete waste of 2 quid. It's a glass screen, not plastic. If you've hit it hard enough to scratch it, then a piece of clingfilm ain't gonna help it lol

You don't really need one....now a back protector would be good.

The new iphone has glass front and back :)

Yeah, watch it change in 10 days time

For 2 quid, it's a nice safe and cheap option. Although I'm in no doubt that if I shelled out £500 or so I'd want something more substantial. It's a short term measure and for 2 squid, it's hard to go wrong.

I agree with this post, the aluminium is a lot easier to scratch than the glass.

would this work on an equally functional picture frame?

Hmmnn -I've bought an iPad and that PC-World video raises some serious concerns over it's durability.

I currently use the Apple rubber cover which is very good but is a dust magnate and impossible to clean. Can you recommend an alternative?

iv'e got an marware eco vue case, which i really like initially. Although its starting to fraya t the seems after a few months and the flap that is supposed to keep the ipad secure does seem to be getting looser. Still it has great functionality. Here's the US store link if anyone is interested: http://www.marware.com/products/iPad/Eco-Vue-for-iPad I also noticed it was available at play.com
