Pure S-1Additional Speaker for Pure Evoke-1S Radio £9.95 delivered - Dispatched from and sold by iZilla / Amazon

The speaker (you need the radio to go with it) was until recently £29.95 so this is very good value. It is now half the lowest price recorded on CamelCamel. Probably clearing old stock with the chang…

I have Tempus and XT models, the speaker only works if you plug it into the headphone socket, it also seems very quiet for the size of the speaker. Tried plugging it into my laptop as well, still very quiet.
I think it is going back.
Could you not put a jack that works (1xt) on the cable that comes from the s1 speaker. I don't know where you would get that jack from. I don't know if I fancy soldering inside the radio.
Just in case you missed it yesterday.

Solder another socket to the left and right pin of the aux socket and insert a blank 3.5mm plug in to the original aux.

They are not compatible with the 1XT, only the S.

You can insert a fake Jack then solder a new socket to the far left and right pin of the socket on the xt main board. That's what I have done.

Got this back from Pure "The S1 speaker is not compatible with the Evoke 1xt or the 1xt range of radios that we have previously manufactured. The S1 speaker has been designed to work with the 1s range, you would require a xt1 speaker for your radio. "
Just tried and it works! But there seems to be some resistance, maybe a spring in the socket stopping it from being left pulled out slightly, it pops all the way out instead so I don't think tape would work.

I'll see if I have an extension cable or adapter I can try with it.

Ricoh SP 213w A4 Wireless Mono Laser Printer. Easy-to-use, WiFi-ready, A4 Black and White £34.95 @ iZilla. / Amazon

I never ever had printer from that company but reviews are good. price is low and you can buy cheap toners for it.

For those who are having trouble with the wifi being forgotten each time the printer is turned off. This site has the info to fix it. You basically need to go to the printer and set it with a static ip.

https://www.medinaminds.com/ricoh-sp213w-wifi-fix/
Bought this last week to replace a 20 year old HP laser 4l . Have to say I'm delighted with the purchase. It prints much fatser than the old HP. I Plugged it in to my Imac via USB and it worked out of the box. The wifi setup was more challenging however, the only way i could get this set up was a manual setup. This required connecting the printer via usb to a windows laptop and using the smart monitor software downloaded from the RICOH website. Using this software you can log into your router and an IP address is assigned to the printer (usually 192.168.x.x format) you can then use this IP address when setting up the printer on all other pc's and Macs . Also got it working with my iphone utilising the free RICOH app of the apple store.
Toner coming with this printer is only 25% filled, maximum 50 to 75 pages. After that buy genuine toner for £75 or after market for £40. Not worth
In my experience, all home printers are bad..
This. Every printer especially the cheap ones have some unhappy customers. In the end you have to go for one which fits best with your requirements with a quality that is good enough and hope for the best. If it is not working from the start at least you can send it back, and if it is cheap there is not much to lose if it does not last.
A word of caution: I bought a Ricoh 100 series b&w laser printer, and it was buggy from the first use. It was very cheap, but it never worked properly and I had to get creative to make the drivers work. I don't know about the 200 series, but I suspect it's similar under the hood, and so very likely suffers from the same faults.

In my experience, all home printers are bad, but if you're going to buy a printer, do some research on the internet and try to find one that won't reduce you to tears of frustration. I've read comments on forums about printers that actually did work properly, but there are always people who have had the opposite experience. I think it's a good idea to look at recent reviews of OLD printers; if a printer is still performing well after 5 years, then that's a much safer buy than a brand new printer that will probably fail before the pre-installed 15% full ink cartridges run out.

i think the reviews explain it all. At £90 for smaller ones and £130 for the larger one they were overpriced as can only be used with spotify (presumably due to image rights deal) at £25-30 and £50 they have good reviews in terms of audio quality and 80% of my music usage is spotify. I have lots of other speakers and music options (big fan of chrome cast audio) but for easy usage for decent sound quality, if you have spotify premium these are very good value now.
why would anyone want this ...

We have Ricoh printers at work. Never heard of them before that and for good reason, they're absolutely rubbish. Paper jams. Poor prints. Drum issues (take out, put back in, hope it works).

I recently purchased the SP204SFN after spending a while searching for a laser printer with scanner, auto document feeder and networking. I can't recommend this printer highly enough - great value for money.
We have one too, and are pretty pleased with it. I find network scanning clunky and it could be a bit quieter but print quality is fine, and the price and replacement toners are nice.

does it work with the Ricoh android app?

Says auto duplex in blurb but someones comments say manual duplex?

I have the printer.

I can confirm not automatic duplex.

Can anybody recommend a thicker (let's say 10 cm) laptop bag on Amazon for less than £10?

10cm is pretty small.....

Here's a 11.6" one though which is good quality:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tech-Air-11-6-Inch-Lightweight-Slimline/dp/B002P9LP3K/ref=sr_1_15?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1442709673&sr=1-15&keywords=tech+air+laptop+bag
Padding is woeful on this. Cold for that reason. Paying £5 for protection on a £1k laptop is pretty silly IMO.

Have a look at the Tesco website - they've got a great range of laptop bags at all price points.

PoE in its infancy? Really? I've been running PoE at work for 11 years if you're counting the standards based stuff (802.3af) and 15 years since the turn of the century for some pre-PoE standards implementation (which was for Wifi). Now running 15k ports of PoE supplying all manner of devices.

Have not used this particular one myself, but the Amazon reviews (always take with a pinch of salt) seem positive. And there are a lot of questions answered by the supplier, which shows a decent level of customer service.
The spec list seems to cover everything. Also claims to support 'onvif' so other apps should work with it and if you decide to get a separate NVR (recorder) these should work. You could probably buy for a little less direct from China.
Foscam are also a good brand for these things in this price range. Around £95 for a twin set on Amazon. Not sure if they have mics though.
Remember these are wireless, but still need a power supply. The other option are PoE ones. Tend to be better quality, but more expensive. Plus you will need a PoE (Power over Ethernet) capable network switch. Obviosuly still one wire needs to get to the camera, but you save on power supplies.
Good thing about Amazon is you can at least see if it lives up to the description, otherwise return it.

Thanks, whats so good about Foscam? its got lower reso than the previous link. Hmm i'll have to look into it some more.
Yeah PoE is still infancy stage at the moment (market wise), there's also PoE ++ out soon so its still very new.. Also running cables in the house is not something I can see myself doing :D.
I have tried the Swann system, the units are quite good, but the app/s........ Not good.

Personally I have found Foscam products and their customer support to generally be spot on. I don't usually use the bundled software, but make sure the camera is onvif compatible and use almost any other ip camera software.

Here is a link to their website and a similar spec (as far as I can tell) camera to the one in the deal, but with two way mic and also a wider field of view - but it is a little more expensive (£59.99 direct from them). I don't remember if it has ir cut-out if that's important to you.

http://foscam.co.uk/pan-tilt-cameras-1.html

Btw PoE has been out a long time and is the set-up I would recommend. But it is more expensive.

Just bought an 11 inch one for my new laptop. At £3 even if it doesn't fit I'm not going to be heartbroken! Great price.

Did the price go up a pound? I can't see a seller at £3.

It is about 1.5-2" small.

Hmm, you've given me plenty to think about here. Intended to just use the DAC bypass just to improve the sound of my existing Itunes library, These imported using AAC encoder, Itunes plus setting at 256kbps. Seems like I need to look into this a bit more, thanks.

Thanks op, Just bought one for use with my Ipod Classic. They sell for more than this used on Ebay.

Look after that classic.

I looked back at my last purchase from May 2014, a lightning deal for £143.10. The current price on that listing is now, 4 new from £589.90.

I believe those who have voted cold do not know what this dock is. It is a 'transport dock' used to bypass the internal DAC of the IPOD so passing pure digital data to an external amp.

Hook this up to a decent amp and speakers through toslink and your IPOD steps up to a whole new level of sound.

I re-ripped all of my CD'S to Flac, with DBPOWER AMP, and then converted the Flac files to 320 KBPS MP3's and Apple lossless.

I keep one IPOD permantly docked and another for travelling. One day I may convince myself to by an 'Astell & Kern AK240'.
