That thing's got road kill written all over it. I can't see this make or model listed on any insurance company I have checked.

As much as I believe these things are excellent, and the price is blinding I'm sorry but its a cold vote from me.

Parts are going to be non-existant to the point that if you drop it or if anything goes on it there is a good chance it's a write off!

Used to own Vespa's years ago and the quality of tyres makes a huge amount of difference to the safety of your ride. Cheap tyres are lethal and you can bet your nan on it that this will have been made as cheaply as possible to the point where other components will have been scrimped on too

IMHO you would be better looking for a second hand 50cc scooter from a reputable manufacturer that will have a resale value as well as having an established track record.

I might be wrong - but I personally wouldn't entrust my life with a £499 chinese machine.

I think the point is that this is electric (quiet and clean). You refer to petrol scooters (stinky and noisy). Completely different.

With respect, I think he was referring to quality manufactured products as opposed to cheap junk.

There are some good electric moped manufacturers, but obviously they would cost more.
#8
So you can only charge it up 2000 times?
#9
This thing gets free tax right? ok so its onlty £15 quid for a petrol scooter but its still £15.

Electric vehicles dont pay congestion charges right? And although theyve been promising to scrap it for motorbikes and scooters i dont think they have yet.

So in my head this thing pays for itself in 100 days..
if you live withing a 20 mile radious of a congestion charging zone then this thing rocks.

one slight safety issue when filtering thropugh traffic on a quiet scooter. youll need a big bell lol

charge and discharge it 2000 times.
if you use it ie charge it daily thats 7 years
#11
Safety issues are present aye, but from financial point of view, if you need a way of getting around, great deal indeed!

8.5 years if you disregard 2 days a week and 25 days for annual leave. Doubt very much the battery would last over 3 years and you would not get a replacement.

Don't mean to be a spoil sport, but jeez these things are rubbish. May be a good idea for a paddock bike, or to get around an airport, but I really would not trust the:

Brakes
Tyres (especially in the wet)
The way it's put together

Im up for buying cheap stuff, but not cheap stuff you ride on the road with other road users around.
#18
you would be faster riding a shopping trolley and indeed safer

If you use it and charge it daily it would last 5 and a half years
2000 divided by 365 = 5.479

But as someone else said, I don't see the battery lasting more than 3.

of course its illegal on the footpath and quite right she should be charged too with speeds up to 35mph -

it is a road vehicle which needs either a cbt licence or provisional cbt on a car licence
it needs to be taxed
it needs to be insured
you must wear a helmet
you cant carry pillions on a provisional
you cant ride it on the footpath
you must be 16+ to get the licence
if any of the above werent followed then she was asking to be stopped on the road or footpath
it is not a toy.

Ill refrain from asking if shes a chav :whistling:

as above, beat me to saying it

If it goes faster than 12mph it has to be road registered (number plate) , Taxed and insured and MOT'd depending on age of vehicle. I suggest the young lady should get a mobility scooter, they are unregulated. I guess if found guilty she may get a ban

Whatever type of vehicle you buy or use it pays to check them out first before buying. This deal will probably be very hard to get insured. What's wrong with a petrol 2nd hand scooter?

32 years of transport if you only work 10 hours a week.
etc etc etc

It won't last 6/7/8 years and most people use their vehicles for social, domestic and pleasure as well as commuting.

According to this link http://www.greencarsite.co.uk/greenbikes/fun-electric-scooters.htm some scooters seem to be exempt from insurance and licence requirements.

Discuss.

ffs this forum is full of ********

right can you find this cheaper anywhere else? if not it's a good deal.

if you can, then it's not a good deal.

didn't realise this was "hotukdealsforstuffthateveryonewants"

damn i don't want sanitary towels, but if they're the cheapest price around it's a good deal for those wanting to buy it.

therefore if this is the cheapest around for THIS bike, then it's a good deal!!

I thought it was only Andywedge that dictated whether folk voted hot or cold (cold if you want a warning)
