No more paying at the pump and FREE road tax

I'd get one, if it weren't for the fact I'd probably look a lot like the first photo on the page riding it...

Yeah he's a cracker X)

Good deal if you don't need to go far. The battery life is terrible on this though, so it's only really good for going to Uni / College / Work and back if it is within a reasonable distance (10-15 miles) or shopping either, though I don't know the storage space on these things,

Hot.

good deal these are at least £200 more anywhere else and although it might not last forever it has a lithium battery, road tax is free and insurance about £150 a year for most people

Despite the fact this is now expired and the scooter is horribly ugly, Boffer are a rubbish company who think that taking the mickey out of their customers is being 'cool' and different (not to me personally but have witnessed many times on their forums) and their 5 or 6 employees are on a constant power trip.
I certainly wouldn't trust them with £400 of my money.

I would be very surprised if this come with lithium batteries as a 40ah 48v pack would cost around £700 alone, also if it was with lithium batteries it would not weigh as much, very much sounds like it will come with lead acid batteries, which for this price is ok, but max range would be 20 miles , no way would you get 40 miles with lead acid batts..

I'd tell TFL and Network Rail where to stick it with the one suggested! ;)

Unless your riding a few miles on flats and little wind resistance then i would certainly not get this, you would be better with a mobility scooter!!

and if the figures hold true of 2000 full cycles, i expect 20 miles per charge max! thats 40,000 miles MAX before you replace the battery, and lets say you do a 20 mile round trip to work and back a day, + weekend use for whatever, your averaging about 7000 miles a year, so its got 4-5 years use, this is all best case though doubt using every day full charge per day will last usable for more than 18 months.

and of course it will have no resale value, and you will be charged to dispose of the batteries safely

Even if it lasted only a year, I'd make profit on it over my train fare. Zones 1-5, £180 a month.

Not that I'm buying one mind.

x2 just insured a 100cc bike, im only 21 on a CBT with no bike no claims, cost 100 quid

Nice price. I'd be a little worried how many miles it would do in 12 months time though, considering how fast li-ion batteries seem to degrade.

we have ordered one, can't see it lasting the 3 years till its first MOT but for 400 quid (plus £2.99 delivery-bargain!) it is great value for short journeys, sounds like the insurance will be pretty cheap too.

Tempted, the old dear next door has an outside plug so I wouldnt even need to pay to charge it!
