Good for the money considering the games it can play. And if you need more power shove in a second hand 6670 for hybrid crossfire for £14-18 delivered.

    just finished reading the reviews.

while not a complete failure like last time, I'd still prefer i3 3225. for anything more GPU intensive I'd get a dedicated card anyway.

but overall, it's a step forward for AMD and the pricing is relatively decent.

    Good price

Reviews are fairly positive, a 10-15% improvement from Bulldozer.
Good price and does everything you need it to for this price.

At the moment I have a budget machine running an athlon ii x2 with 8gb ram and a 6670 ddr5 graphics card.I'm thinking of getting this processor along with this mobo- Gigabyte GA-F2A75-D3H http://www.ebuyer.com/406360-gigabyte-ga-f2a75-d3h-socket-fm2-vga-dvi-hdmi-7-1-channel-audio-atx-motherboard-ga-f2a75-d3h?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products
My question is can someone please recommend a reasonably priced PSU that would run this comfortably?

Get a Corsair PSU, though I normally go for any gold efficiency PSU's.

    Just Wondering
Which voltage ram will this processor require?
    GAVINLEWISHUKD
Has anybody seen any (new) benchmarks where they tested it with 1866MHz ram as all of them seem to be using 1600Mhz which I would expect lowers the benchmarks by 5-10%.

I use this one to run a quad core phenom and 6850, been running without fault for over a year.

I don't really rate 'You stupid or something' as a helpful comment, maybe others do? A helpful comment would have been something more like saying that while that exact PSU is not available commercially in the UK, the Thermaltake TR2 range can be had. A 450w version of the TR2 for example can be found at amazon, which complies to the later ATX 2.3 standard and offers a higher ampage albeit over a single 12v rail.

That of course would have taken some effort, google doesn't type by itself, but still worth the extra mile I feel.

The lower power consumption of the A10-5700 caught my eye and then I read this from the Hexus review:

"Our pick of the sextet is the A10-5700; it nearly matches the range-topping A10-5800K in absolute performance yet ships with a significantly lower TDP of 65W"

So if you've no interest in overclocking it may be the better option. Not sure about these CPUs though. You also need a new motherboard so it may not be the best value for money option for some people looking to do an upgrade to their current PC.

Lovely CPU for the price Stick it with an AMD card and compatible mobo for hybrid Crossfire and it blows away most games with ease. Looking for an upgrade lately and this might be it..

What!?!?! Nobody mentioned INTEL yet!?! or Sandybridge???

Hallelujah!!!! Nice to have an AMD thread without Intel trolls crawling all over it!

Its not trolling its fact. Trinity real world performance lags behind even the i3 3225. The fact that you need to upgrade your mobo for this anyway begs the question, why would any responsible consumer not switch to Intel? I know I am.

I disagree. Real-world performance seems to be better with the 5800k. When you take real-world performance to be general internet stuff (which is what most people use their PCs for msot of the time), AMD offer better energy efficiency, and pretty much equal performance. Intel offer better high-end CPUs, but at this price point, with this chip, AMD have released something that's actually very good.

how exactly do AMD offer better efficiency on this 100W chip, when 3225 is 55W?
