AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX62 2.80GHz (Socket AM2)
One Screaming fast CPU

Great Value

When I noticed this on OcUK, I though it was an error in pricing so I ordered one. The next day it arrived and was indeed a genuine FX62 retail processor.
Thank you OcUK for making this CPU so affordable as now my AMD machine has turned into a beast. No need to go Intel anymore with prices like this.

If i was to say this was fast at multitasking i would only be scraching the surface, mind to get a worth-while motherboard and memory hitting at least 6400

I wonder how it fares against an overclocked E4300 which cost a tad more than a third of the price.

Not well. An E4300 or E6300 overclocked to ~2.5GHz blows the pants off any stock AMD chip, and at 3GHz beats pretty much everything across the board (except the Core 2 Extremes, obviously).

For £300 you can buy an E6300/E4300, at least 1GB RAM and a 965 motherboard.

Anandtech's E4300 review:
Lots of overclocking comparisons, though not with FX-62. For that comparison, see their E6300/E6400 review:
Good price, considering ebuyer are selling them for £450 but if I was looking to spend £250 plus on a processor Id be waiting for the quad cores just round the corner...
