wonder if they're expecting a refresh (i know about the 9000 series)

I have this cpu, runs great but the stock cooling as terrible. advise an aftermarket cooler for it (an h80i will let this idle at 10c and full load at 35c)

That'd be some extremely impressive cooling.

I've been thinking the exact same thing recently, would not surprise me if they do release steamroller on am3+
They would not want to announce it until almost ready for market because people would stop buying 8320/8350.

These price drops might be to shift inventory, lets hope so.

I sure hope you're talking about delta temps (30C at idle 55C under load) otherwise the h80i is one hell of a cooler

Doubt it, theres nothing new coming to socket AM3+ in the future, they're done making high performance chips.

Didn't you know? It's freezing this time of year in BS Land.

I can vouch for Ollyj, I also have this CPU, I'm running it with an NH-D14 and I've seen idle temps as low as 7 degrees celsius... it does genuinely stay at around 10-13 degrees when idle with this cooler..

The stock cooler really is absolutely terrible though, it sounds like an aeroplane taking off..

Just add, i put together one of these a few days ago, yes they run hot, the stock cooler is noisy and not very good. Even with a better after market cooler, it still sticks between 40 to 55 idling in the bios. Though, that is in a room that has a high ambient temperature (as do most rooms at the moment).

Must be deltas, nothing else makes sense. The h80i doesn't have a peltier element or any kind of refrigeration. It can't cool lower than the ambient temperature of the environment. People are quoting numbers from reviews out of context.

Anyhow, the deal is a good'un. heat from me.

Add two h80i and it will go below zero.

can't go below room temperature.. common reading error by the pc's though.. my 8320 once said it was running at 11 degrees.. it was 24 degrees in my room so I know it was bs :P

I assume you use your computer while sat inside an industrial refrigeration unit?

It's down to £109.99!!!

Im assuming these are the socket temps and not the cpu temps. Though i have seen my h100i hit lows of 10c... In the winter... With all the windows open and the pc sat right below the window. But again it all depends on ambient temps. Fx8320 at stock clock mind. Great price for the 8350 though, bargain
