Appearing on my cards this morning via my Offers section in my online account....

Spend £150 or more, get £50 back
Save to Card to get a £50 statement credit on a transaction of £150 in-store and online at Jessops by 31 December 2016. Offer valid every time for the first 50,000 Cardmembers to save. Terms and payment restrictions apply.
Please read the Offer Terms

Good to stack with any other deals from them - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/jessops.com

For cashback deals from camera manufacturers to stack with see - http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Current%20Offers/Cashback%20Offers/Show.html?homepagerb1

If you're buying online don't forget cashback.

If you're buying in store and have the offer on more than one card and are spending on an item of say £300, ask to split payment over two cards, so £100 cashback on £300 etc. Even if you only have one card you could ask to see if you split transactions, as the offer does say valid 'every time', not just once.

Currently no link for non Amex issued cards (Lloyds, TSB, Barclays and MBNA) and based on offers of late I'd think the chances of one turning up are slim - sorry.

It's been confirmed, no giftcards.

interesting that it says "offer valid every time". Would that suggest unlimited use until the expiry date? So I could buy £150 gift vouchers multiple times for an effective 1/3 off anything I wanted to buy? I assume Jessops sell vouchers?

It would sound that way.

C. Transactions that are not eligible

The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:

· transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);

· transactions processed through a third party payment processor (for example, PayPal);

· transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded;

· transactions where the merchant does not pass on the information we need to process it properly within the offer period (for example, when their payment systems are down and they cannot process the transaction electronically)

· transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

Giftcards are always stated as excluded in Amex deals, but in my experience (and many others) have never failed to work. It's how I spend on most of the deals. Amex don't know what you're buying, as long as it's a transaction meeting the minimum spend you'll be fine.

How do you know when the 'first 50,000' has been reached?

It will no longer appear for you to save to your card in the Offers section. It's a limit on saving it to your card, not spending.

Thx OP. Combined with their price match this is a winner.

Great, so how can I go about buying the gift cards? Assume in store only?

I'm after the 80d with the 18-135mm USM lens. That's going to be £1,219.00, thusly I'll need 8 £150.00 gift cards.

With the Jessops/Canon cash back of £80.00 and the 8 sets of £50.00 offer, the body and lens would end up being £739.00, which is a bargain IMO.

It could however all come crashing down on me if it doesn't work! :(

FWIW searching for gift cards on their website gives no results - http://www.jessops.com/accessories/gift-cards also has nothing - don't know what that means.

Very hot deal. Must try not to buy more lenses for my camera 8)

Right, just had a chat with CS and it seems Jessops don't do any gift cards/vouchers/coupons - this is what they said

You can get vouchers for academy courses in the shops but this is all.

So that option is ruled out - has to be a product or services purchase then I am afraid.

Damn! Thanks for looking into it guys. That is a massive shame!

The only other way would be to ask the checkout assistant to split the transaction multiple times. Not sure if they'd be able to accommodate that all. Would probably look somewhat suspect, I guess.

Sorry to be a spoilsport here :( They won't split it into multiple transactions as its one product - but worth a try and see if they play ball.

That's alright mat, I probably need to be brought back down to earth anyway.

My other half wants to go shopping to our (relatively) local big shopping centre next weekend, I guess I can go in and ask the question.

I saved the offer to my card this morning on my platinum card. I'm going to buy the Panasonic 25mm F1.7 and Olympus 45mm f1.8.

I find most places are ok with this approach, but I guess it depends who is on the till on the day.

Don't mean to sound condescending, but to alleviate any doubt, you have scrolled down haven't you? There's an option to "view more".

Thanks for the reassurance. By all means I will be asking - if they want to sell an 80d they can accommodate me or they can refuse. Their call, I guess.

I wonder if this relates back to when they were in administration and stopped accepting their gift cards as payment? Shame, as 3 x £50 off would have been ideal for me! :)

Excellent, American Express have acknowledged the transaction/promotion already.

I've always found AMEX to be quite quick off the mark, I've had it in the past where I've not even left Starbucks and I've had an e-mail to say that the £1 off a £3 order has been redeemed. Quality company.

Was hoping the rx100 v3 would be on offer or sony cashback, but afraid not

Went in to the Oxford Street branch today, I was able to make a purchase of £349 and split it over 2 cards, both with the offer saved. Within a few minutes I received the offer confirmation from Amex that it had been tracked. So hopefully I will receive the credit on both but will have to wait and see. Will update in the next few days.

Ps. Unfortunately Jessops do no gift cards, confirmed in-store.
