03/12 - Get Spending! From now until 18th December.

Here it is, Amex Shop Small UK, officially back for 2016.....

Save the offer to your cards now, and then spend between 03/12 to 18/12.

SHOP SMALL - Spend £10 or more, get £5 back

**************************************************************

Save to Card to get a £5 statement credit when you spend £10+ in-store at participating small businesses between 3 December and 18 December 2016. Valid once per Card per business. Terms and payment restrictions apply.

For Amex cards issued by other banks and supplementary cards, enrol via https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSitePage?offer=99313ShopSmall Credit to amz84uk. See note on TSB card below...

TSB Amex card holders note that the email received when registering my Amex cards does state in the small print - "Offer is not valid for TSB American Express Cards", so not sounding great there!

Does the supplementary card holder have to be a 'real' person? Or can it just be a 'fake' name ... worth getting a supplementary card to get double the rewards!

Thank you and looks like no changes from last year.
Last year, you could use your card in multiple One stop shops as they are all classed as individual business. As long as they are on the map and registered, then OK. Good for Chanchi's stamps, as some sell them in books over the counter. They also usually have some good deals on, like chocolates, wine, whisky etc.
Also it says giftcards and vouchers aren't applicable, last year I ate out for ages and ages with restaurant giftcards and vouchers. Some local butchers also sell gift vouchers, generally valid for 6 months.

Right, off to write my list, on the back of a roll of lining paper and taking my bargain hunting suite to the cleaners, ready for the fun.

Always love the shop small scheme! I remember a few years ago when it was spend £5 get £5 back, we ate out every day splitting the bill!

Doesn't seem as many places near me on it this year as before but will make for a good few nights out :)

Just ask first? If they say no but are on the map send Amex a message via your account to complain and in my experience they'll credit you £5.

Second this, happened to me last year, AMEX cust service tends to be fairly amazing.

My wife has a supplementary card but doesn't get these benefits. Do I have to register her online separately somehow. I don't see how to just add her card in my account.

Possibly because OneStop are owned by TESCO and don't fit into the "small independent category". Just a thought :|

I agree, just checked shops local to me on the offer and at least 4 out of the first 10 I see on the list I use regularly and none of which accept Amex despite me asking on more than one occasion?? Something a bit odd there!

Expect to see a degree of change in shops listed between now and the event, as some are removed and some new join. If those ones are still listed on 3rd December, then see my post above - drop a complaint to Amex and they'll likely credit you £5 for each one.

Register for a separate online Amex account and register the supplementary card.
NB supplementary card holders only see spending on their card, so no worries about those little 'extra' purchases being spotted ;-)

fully aware that AMEX are much more expensive than mastercard / visa and take longer to pay although if a shop signs up to AMEX.. they could at least accept it
