I was genuinely looking to book this for June anyway. Price was coming up at over £600 for 2 adults and 2 kids by the time you add all the extras. I am now getting this for just under £400 which includes:-
2 nights in one seaview cabin for 4
champagne in the cabin both ways
buffet dinner for 4 on way out
3 course a la carte dinner on way back
breakfast for 4 both ways
return coach to Amsterdam from port
Sighseeing coach journey

A Bargain.

or you could get an easyjet/bmibaby flight for £30-80ish pp and be there within the hour!

plus 1 and a half hours to airport and then another hour to get through airport and journey to Amsterdam on a train and of course do it all again to return.
HOT for me, just priced up from Hull and it's £72 each.

I have been on these trips a couple of times now but they seem to be getting extremely expensive now with the add-ons. For anyone thinking of going - if you can find the commodore cabins at a reasonable price its well worth upgrading as these include full breakfasts and a free mini bar in the price).

Does this cruise actually berth in Amsterdam or somewhere else then a coach to Amsterdam?

Amsterdam, coach is only about 30-40 mins or sightseeing takes about 1-1 and half hours.

Hi - it berths at Ijmuiden which is on the outskirts of Amsterdam. The price includes a return coach to the Central Station in the heart of Amsterdam.

Distance is about 13 miles - 30-40 minutes on coach

Main part about this is the journey - not arriving there quickly. If you needed to get to Amsterdam quickly then yes you fly. If you want a nice 2 night cruise break - you take the boat.

Think you are trying to compare 2 entirely different thing IMO.

I was wanting to book these cabins for the reasons you say - but sold out already!

Main problem with these is that you only have from 10:15am to 3:00pm (less than 5 hours) to see Amsterdam!

If you're only going to spend one day there they should at least make it a longer day.

Hull to Amsterdam, seems to ring a bell
"schooner, schooner with an engine"
just hope uncle Albert isn't steering the ship :whistling: (god rest his soul)
