  Hi all, I just want to defend this game - I thought the same as you when I started playing it... HOWEVER, it got a patch a few weeks ago which improved combat, and increased checkpoints. I continued from where I struggled and really enjoyed it, especially the end boss.

  I've not played it but I can see that 2 patches have now been released since the game was reviewed making massie changes (especially to checkpoint saving) but when it comes to reviews it's generally too little too late, a shame, which is obviously why they've patched the game and have reduced the price in a sale
  
  I used to swear by Metacritic but if you take the time you'll notice a lot of it is (sadly) bull, especially when some sites give ratings without any actual review. Games that score highly can still be rubbish, and likewise poorly rated games can still be great fun. It's all about personal choice at the end of the day
  
  *edit* Gamekult, I swear every damn game they EVER review scores 40/100 with "Quotation forthcoming", possibly the most pathetic "critic" ever. 1/100 :P

  Here are the main changes: - the last checkpoint you reach is now saved (instead of going back to the beginning of the chapter)
  - the syringes remain in the inventory after a checkpoint is reached
  - Amy's Powers remain available after a checkpoint is reached
  - the Combat camera has been removed
  - most sequences can now be skipped
  - the ingame brightness has been improved.
  According to the tests we carried, Chapter Five is now much easier with these changes.

  Well if it helps, originally I would have rated the game 3/10 mainly for frustration.
  
  Now I'd rate it 6/10 as it's a pretty good filler if there's nothing else to play. Yes it can be a little annoying, but overall it's an alright game. I'd definatly pay this price for it. I paid £7.99.
