Not a book that I'd recommend.
A reasonable price though so I'll not be voting cold.
In 80 years, people will discuss this in dissertations.

Very funny book (as expected), but the product itself was absolutely appalling! There were so many typographical mistakes in the book, which made it confusing to read in places. Several words are spelt completely wrong, or have been replaced by correctly-spelt words with different meanings; a person's name was spelt two different ways in the same chapter, and I found one paragraph that was repeated twice!
It's as if they'd lost the original electronic copy of the book and had to use a monkey to scan in the pages from the real book and OCR it.
I guess at 20p a pop they could only afford the monkey and not a proofreader.
I made the mistake of watching some of the series and he's the most skin crawling tv person (well the three of them really) that I've ever had the misfortune to watch.
He just hates everywhere he visits.Don't really enjoy watching someone whine about the world's great wonders.
I think the whining was supposed to be "put on for the show" but I would put the three of them on a desert island and forget which one.
Why did I read this thread if I dislike KP so much? I just wanted to see what others thought.

interesting to know what you'd consider a good price if 20p is just reasonable? X)
its a very funny read but - if like the above poster, your head is lodged up your **** - you may not enjoy it and would be better off spending your 20p on something more worthwhile.

The TV series is funny, but I can understand people's irritation at KP - he moans at everything.
Which is kind of the point I suppose, but it does grate occasionally.

I am so glad this polarizes people's opinions; IMHO, good 'cutting edge' comedy, will never be accepted by everyone and become mainstream.
I really enjoy the TV series; the book is great but obviously lacks Karl's expression and body language which is highly comical. It is very easy to criticise his 'attitude' however tongue in cheek, but there are so many Brits out there with similar attitudes who just keep going to 'all inclusive' sunny destinations with no interest in the country other than the all-day buffet, what cider is available and how much chlorine is in the 5-star infinity pool ;) Garlic bread........!!
Cheers

But like the series itself, without gervais taking the pilk out of his idiocy its just Karl complaining about stuff without being challenged.
The whole idiot abroad thing seems to aimed at the celebrity juiceaudience, got nowt on xfm and bodcasts

How ironic... Considering you are the one expressing your personal opinion as indisputable fact...
