OK this is getting daft now, posting EVERY supermarket offer, and people voting it hot. Erm?

Sorry, not that great a price ... now the Country LIfe spreadable 500g tub for £1 a few weeks ago would have been worth posting!

Supermarket own brands are cheaper than this and Sainsburys have Kerrygold 250g on 2 for £1.60 at the moment...

For those who make ghee will understand, anchor has always been better quality, and I've only listed a few posts since I joined hot deals, loads of pple post deals like this. Standard this!

Country Life is full of vegetable oil, so not "butter!" Putrid :-(

Supermarket own brands are often cheaper, in particular "Holly" and similar "brands" are old EC Butter mountain being sold off cheap, all passable for cooking, but a very much lower quality product, and not a very good comparison.

The Kerrygold IS a good deal though, as it is the only "easily spreadable" (not VERY!) brand that is proper 100% butter.

I'm certainly NOT trolling - but I am explaining why I don't think this is a great deal ... if it was half price or BOGOF it would be...

I don't make ghee I'm afraid, I just spread it on me toast! :)
Maybe you should add the ghee tip to the post?

I am not having a go, I'm just saying that there are better butter deals out there - if this was half price of BOGOF it would be a great deal

Butter to be safe than sorry :-D

I always have a block of cheapo butter like this for coating baking tins etc, so good deal for me to save a few pennies.

I'd say more than 20% off a quality brand is a bargain. I only buy Anchor and I'll be buying a load of this and freezing it.

Most cheap butter is nasty compared to the high quality brands and 'spreadable' is not butter. If you want to spread butter easily leave it out of the fridge where it'll last for weeks and weeks. All these disgusting 'spreads' people buy would last over night and turn into a greasy vegetable oil based puddle.

Thanks to the OP.
