If you purchased a Linx 10" tablet they offer a £50 cashback scheme but you have to send in a 7" tablet in return. So if you didn't have one to send back you could buy one of these for £25.99 and then send it to https://tablettradeup.com/pages/linx/view to get back some free money.

This. Wouldn't recommend going for it, spend a bit more and get a much better tablet.

What is rebate fodder?

What is rebate fodder?

It comes from the term 'Cannon Fodder'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannon_fodder

He means the tablets are only of use to be traded in for the 'rebate' @ linx, i.e expendable.

On release it was every good, however, things has moved on in the last 2years so its pretty poor now with limited memory available.

I don't think so. I checked the label, and it just has the model number, not the serial number.

Qualifying Products
For your existing tablet to qualify for the Trade-up Reward it must be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear and tear excepted) and have a diagonal screen size of 7” or more. For the avoidance of doubt each of the following is considered beyond reasonable wear and tear; cracked/split/damaged or open chassis structure, cracked or non-working display, does not power on.

In order to qualify for this promotion, your qualifying Linx Tablet must be purchased from one of the following retailers:

Amazon
Argos
CCL
Dabs/BT Direct
DSG
Ebuyer
Hughes Electrical
Insight
Laptops Direct
Linx EPP
Misco
SDG
Staples

" Your qualifying Linx Tablet must be purchased from" so if you purchased a Linx tablet from staples like many folk did when they were on offer then you can purchase the cheap tablet on offer here to send to them to get £50 cash back for the linx tablet. Otherwise they are just cheap android tablets useful for the kids and basic web and social media :)
#35
You are wrong to get a £50 trade in it has to be like for like ie 10inch for 10inch you only get £30 trade in for 7 or 8 tablet you will only make £4.01 if they are prepared to take the smaller tablet in exchange be careful offer is now off in Staples so 10inch tablets are now £156
#36
Axminister, that's not according to the t&c's on the linx website so not sure where u got that from?

Anyway, the tablet i posted on Amazon is cheaper so if just purchasing to trade in against a Linx then get that one.
#37
The serial number is the same as on box above barcode, we can confirm this is correct as we have opened ours. Would say if you are trying to claim trade in back and are going to return unopened tablet for refund read terms and conditions Linx will confirm with store that item has not been returned for refund before releasing any rebate

For £40 you can get a 7" android tablet with a higher resolution screen, the latest 4.4 kitkat android, more storage and a quad core processor from Amazon.

I think for £50 the Ultima is still worth a look...plenty quick enough for general use. Apart from the QC issues on the first version reviews praise the build quality, performance and screen. I think you'd struggle to find anything in this form factor that would perform anywhere near as good for £50
It appears that the Ultima 10.1's that are being sold off here are the V1's that have been replaced with V2's by the factory and as OCUK are no longer selling this tablet they are just selling them off.

I'm happy to be corrected though as could do with a couple of well performing 10" tablets for around £50 if you have seen something elsewhere?

512mb ram on a 4.4 tablet will make it a slick as wading through treacle...you'll be using it as nothing more than a paperweight in hours.

But as the OP stated the 9" ISN'T a good tablet...it's posted just as a cheap purchase in order to get soem value from the £50 trade-in voucher that came with the Linx 10...
