Had brand new brochure come through the post this morning. Some bargains in the brochure, plus looking through website practically everything is reduced by some amount including:

angelcare sound and movement monitor (82155)
WINNER OF MOTHER AND BABY AWARD
Combines a sound and movement monitor in a single system. Under the mattress sensor detects babys movements and breathing, sounding an alarm on the parents unit if no breathing is detected

£55 plus £4.95 postage. Quidco also available. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of the voucher codes to work on my order therefore it wasn't worth it for my few items, however some bargains including Splash About swim nappies for half price.

Don't use breathing or movement monitors. Will make you so paranoid..

Just go for a standard baby monitor...

Ordered items from this site in the sale... the order was cancelled.
Funny thing is... the items were still on the site 2/3 days after they e-mailed me saying my order was cancelled.

Sorry, I disagree, this was a godsend particularly for the times when my little boy was poorly, it was peace of mind, yes we had a few times when it went off when I had the movement sensor on and I lifted him up without turning it off but he's 4 now and we still use it as a normal monitor and it's going strong.

I disagree with that. We have a movement monitor and it has given us peace of mind more than anything! My son can be so quiet, it's reassuring to look at the monitor and see the green light flashing, saves me going up and down the stairs to check him every 5 minutes!

Sorry but i totally disagree. I was more paranoid with the normal one. I often would check they were still breathing and ok (relative had cot death baby). With my first kids i had the regular normal ones and always checked them. With this one i was totally relaxed and just let my baby be without checking him once he was put to bed . Definately worth the peace of mind. If you also just are aware that the alarm goes off if your baby wriggles right off the mat , which happened about 5 times, so don't panic.

I highly recommend this and if it saves one babies life then what more could you ask for.

I agree with mandles, LJC79 and fruityloops. I used this with my little boy and it was by far the best baby-purchase I ever made. I don't consider myself paranoid but it gave me great piece of mind during the early months and when he was unwell.

I would recommend it thoroughly.

Our daughter is 14 months old and we've used this monitor since she went in her cot in her own room. I don't believe that it makes you paranoid at all - it helps you relax. You can use this monitor with or without the pad if you want to and isn't that much more expensive than a "standard" monitor. My mum never had a breathing monitor with me or one of my siblings, however bought one with the last two for reassurance.

When it comes to baby equipment everyone has their preferences and it's a shame that people don't respect that. Everyone seems to think they're an expert.

I fully agree. My preference is not to use a breathing/movement monitor.

We had one with our first child and the false alarms always sent us rushing up to check on baby to find it was just the monitor playing up.

Never used one on my other 3 babies.
