Also here's a bit more information about the film.

Mar 2004

From one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the history of animated cinema comes the most acclaimed film of 2002, winner of the 2003 Oscar for Best Animated Film and the Golden Bear at Berlin. Hayao Miyazaki's latest triumph, filled with astonishing animation and epic adventure, is a dazzling masterpiece for all ages.

A fantasy adventure film unlike any other, 'Spirited Away' tells the story of Chihiro, a capricious, headstrong, 10 year-old girl, who believes the entire universe should submit to her every whim. Whilst en-route to a new home, Chihiro and her parents stumble on a mysterious cul-de-sac. Unwittingly they have strayed into the Land of the Spirits, a world inhabited by ancient gods and magical beings, ruled over by a demonic sorceress Yubaba. Finding an ally in the enigmatic Haku, he explains that in order to fight annihilation, to survive this strange and perilous new world, Chihiro must make herself useful, she must work. Chihiro renounces her laziness, her humanity, her reason, her memories, even her name.

HMV DVD Editor

This is Miyazaki's most celebrated anime yet. Not only has it broken all DVD records in Japan, it has captivated the Western World too. The 'Disney' of anime, Studio Ghibli has once again produced an original and gripping storyline which stretches the ties of the fantasy genre beyond all boundaries of elasticity. This is the tale of a young girl Chihiro who finds herself alone herself in a phantom world after a wrong turn on a car journey with her family. Her adventure begins from that moment and she makes numerous friends and enemies throughout the film. The ghostly characters are unlike anyone you have ever encountered and Miyazaki illustrates them in an eerily beautiful manner through the vivid artwork which is presented to us from start to end. The soundtrack compliments the haunting theme of the anime and the english dubbing does not detract from the original Japanese version in the slightest.

Oh and also the imdb score is 8.5/10 (#54 at the all time Top 250) and it managed 34 wins at awards & 17 nominations! :-)

Great 'crossover' film...I've known people who wouldn't normally watch Anime or animated films that watched & loved Spirited away.

Does WT8747 actually work for anyone? I just get 'not recognised'...

Yup I did use it about an hour ago and it worked just fine. I actualy copied and pasted it from the Family Guy deal posted today. Of course make sure that you have at least £35 worth of items in your basket first otherwise it won't work!

Hope that helped!

Tihs is a superb film, but i would also urge you to watch out for the studio ghibli boxset on ebay. I managed to pick on up 9 months ago. 15 studio ghibli films for £29! And nearly all of them are superb!

Oh, and keep an eye out for howls moving castle (superb!!) and steamboy (funky!)

I don't think Steamboy is a Studio Ghibli production, I believe it's by Katsuhiro Otomo who brought us Akira.
