Deep down beneath the city of Tokyo, there exists a vast forgotten world known as the Underground. There, people called Elemental Users exist people who have the ability to control the elements: fire, water, lightning, magnetism and ice.

From this subterranean world escape two mysterious but important figures Ruri Sarasa, the "Maiden of Life", and her bodyguard Chelsea Rorec, a gravity user. Ruri and Chelsea cross paths with two average high school students living in Tokyo, Rumina Asagi and his best friend Ginnosuke Isuzu. It is a meeting that will change all their lives forever. When villains chasing Ruri and Chelsea appear on Rumina's doorstep, a fierce fight ensues and Ruri's miraculous powers awaken Rumina's latent Wind Powers. Resolving to protect Ruri from the evil forces pursuing her, Rumina embarks on a long and dangerous journey of adventure.

The complete 26 episode series is featured on this Series 1 box set, spread over six discs and packaged in a deluxe digipack.

Cheers for the heads up, always been interested in giving this anime a try and at this price its worth ago :)
this is a bit of a rough introduction to anime, why not try 'legend of the overfiend'

Erm, Urotsukidoji is about the last anime I'd recommend to watch. It's completely unrepresentative of the art.

Something like Full Metal Panic or Macross Plus would be a better start, imho.

LOL! You got to be kidding me.

Akira is the must see, followed by Ninja Scroll, Ghost In The Shell & Appleseed 2004
Wheeee. An anime fanboy arguement. Sweet :lol:

Don't forget Shinichirô Watanabe's Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, amazing series and the Bebop movie is really good. Also Full Metal Alchemist is a fantastic series, but I don't know the quality of the UK dvd as I watched (as I do with most) a fansub.

Oops, my nerd is showing. :oops:

there is always the possability that he was trying to be "ironic" as this anime is a "bit rough" as he puts it, and so is overfiend (I cba to try spell the rest at this time of night/ morning).

Also, if you are looking for anice Anime to start off on I would suggest going for maybe cowboy beebop, as suggested, Naruto or Bleach (as they are both being shown dubbed (eww) on UK TV now) or trying to find "Full Metal Alchemist", there are several fan-subs of it and it's a very good series.

cant go wrong with the price.
bummer - got an email.

"This is the automated weekly order status mailer.
Listed below are any outstanding orders, and any titles that
have been sent to you in the last week.

Unfortunately we usually have no way of telling how long items
that are out of stock will take to arrive. Most take less than
a week, but occasionally titles drift out of print temporarily,
whilst the distributor waits for sufficient quantity of orders to
duplicate a new batch. If you get fed up waiting, don't forget
you can cancel your order at any time from your Order Status page:

Tokyo Underground: The Complete Series ( Temporarily out of Stock"
sounds like pretty stock anime but its a good price as long as it's half decent.
Yer seems pretty good for the price, if its anygood

A lot of you seem to be suggesting titles for people that are new to anime;
if thats the case (although i love it so much) people might find ghost in the shell hard to digest.

But i agree Full metal panic is a good place to start, full of giggles throughout;
but id also recommend neon genisis evangelion (although it contradicts my previous sentance xD )

Also Fullmetal Alhemist is great for any people wanting to introduce their partners to anime;
my mrs thought it was all rude stuff untill i made her watch fma, stunning series, she loved it.

This series is being rereleased in the us, so if you have region free dvd players i suggest to try the first volume of it; great stuff especially when you consider it costs you £14+£2 delivery (surface mail) for 4 volumes which are normally around £15 each in uk!
Not the cheapest, but in stock, and good service :)

Well thats my 2pence :P
Heated and repped; thanks
My DVD arrived yesterday very happy great price just got into manga late last year went to see some free shows (and got free beer lol).

If you're looking for a good introduction to Anime culture then buy this:

Unfortunately, the anime series hasnt been released on dvd yet.
same message "Out of stock, re-ordered" but it is on offer for £9.89 - how bizarre. The email also asked me if I wanted to cancel if I got tired of waiting. Am gonna leave it there and see what happens, no money taken out yet.
update: ok finally they posted it -- gonna have an anime fest with mates one evening, come st paddys day lol.
Mine just arrived. Great deal thanks x
