First of all, I'm going to put all the links in the second post since I don't think forum link codes work in the first deal message. Scroll down to that for the prices.

Sendit.com and The Hut/Dixons/Asda/Lovefilm/Currys (all 5 drop prices together) are having sales. Lots of Manga Entertainment DVDs have dropped to the lowest they've ever been - I guarantee that no stores have ever, for example, sold the Bleach S1 box set for less than £17-18 prior to this.

Damn that's a corking price for SAC and Bleach, shame I've already got both. Also already got Naruto and the Ghost in the Shell movies, those prices are not so hot though, they've been around that for a while in some places.

I've never seen any of the other stuff, any recommendations?

Absolutely fab prices on SAC, I'm gonna order those now.

Many Thanks

Heat and Rep given.

I don't know if this is the right thread, but as you lot seem to know seem to know what you're talking about can you recommend me any anime titles for our daughters (5 and 8)?

They've watched all the Ghibli titles. I like the look of Voltron but I think that could be for me!

Cheers

If your 8 year old daughter is a bit of a tomboy, you could try Bleach - It's aimed at boys in Japan. It does have swords, some blood and monsters in, but if they watched stuff like Princess Mononoke I don't think it'd reduce them to tears.

The Naruto movie should also be safe but, like Bleach, it's aimed at boys. It depends what your girls are into. :p

Cheers, 1st Gig go to with my 2nd Gig. :)

Thanks for the advice, I'm leaning toward Bleach at the moment.

Voltron is also looking promising, however is it as good as I remember it?

Sorry to sound so uninformed, but there is such a wealth of titles out there to choose from.

Thanks again.

They need to drop the price on the Death Note boxsets, then we'll talk.

Bleach, Otogi and GITS SAC. :o Lovely prices.

I'm a big Stand alone complex fan. Already got both box sets and paid £20 each for them. So this is quite HOT.

I've been hooked on Naruto and Bleach for a few years now. Can anyone recommend another weekly anime worth looking into?

One Piece is another of the Big 3, and it's far superior to those two.

I've heard a lot about One Piece. I'll take a look this evening for a dvd or two. Thanks.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is great, but not a weekly.

Definitely give One Piece a go though.

Originall paid £25 for each Gig of GITS:SAC, which was a bargain at the time, so the new price isdefinetly hot!

They've just brought out a full collection of GITS: SAC, which includes the first 2 Gigs plus Solid State. Is this new verison the same content-wise as the original SAC volumes? I heard the new version does't have 5.1 or DTS sound?

Cool. I bought the Otogi Zoushi set which is a good price at £11.60 [with More Than customer discount of 10%].
About time I got this since I've had the first 13 eps for years now...
The She: Ultimate Weapon se is also great, Tune Up. I remember watching the first couple of episodes when it came out on DVD in Japan- it's a series I could enjoy, even though it's very girly/romantic. I hope that will be up you street too.
#23
I enjoy depressing series much more than overly happy/kiddy ones. I'm sure She: The Ultimate Weapon will be up my street, which is why I couldn't resist ordering it for just under a tenner. It's got some very good reviews so I'm sure it's worth my time.

Otogi was tempting but most reviews seem to say the same thing: Great first half, poor second half. I'd probably never get around to watching it with my backlog.

By the way, since this thread is more popular, I thought I'd direct your attention to this: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/251806/manga-death-note-box-set-volumes-1-/ -- It really is a lovely set and a bargain at £3 per volume.

Has anyone had their orders ship yet? I'm still waiting...

My sets were sent on the same day I posted the above question.

Both arrived today. I'm very happy with the condition of both. She: The Ultimate Weapon looks very good - I'll probably watch it in a day or two.

I'm after a recommendation.

I'm buying my brother a complete Anime series for Xmas and i'm finding myself a little stuck.

He has previously watched and liked Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, Bleach, Naruto (non fillers), One piece, Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop. He only watches them in subbed Japanese and prefers to watch a whole series or complete box set in one go.

My budget is maybe around £30 but every search on google or others brings up dodgy chinese knockoffs.

So far i've got two parts of Buso Renkin for £15 each or entire Basilisk for £35 in the maybe pile but I know little about these series and would prefer them cheaper.
