Yes there is a cheaper make and model available also http://www.amazon.co.uk/ORICO-Enclosure-Tool-free-Installation-Compatible/dp/B00BH83LYG/ref=pd_cp_computers_3 for £7.88 Not only I would not post it here on HUKD, but I will personally go with the Anker at this sale price for the trusted brand and for the 18 months warranty.

Off to buy one myself and hope some of You will find this good peace of kit! :)

Have this, it is almost idiot proof, slide open, slot drive in and slide closed. Sturdy and fast. Far better than many of the cheap alternatives.

I've had bad experiences with USB 3.0 HDD cases in the past.
When connected to a USB 3.0 port on my computer, files would transfer rapidly but suddenly freeze after 10 seconds or so.
The only fix at this point would be to unplug it from the computer and put it back it.

Does anybody know if this a fault with the HDD case or the computer?

Maybe its the USB 3.0 drivers, if so, there isn't much hope for a fix since I am on the latest from the manufacturer (Dated 9/2/2013).

Got 2 of these which I use to house the HDDs I've swapped-out of two laptops for SSDs. Brilliant to quickly fit the SSD into, clone the old drive, then swap them over.

What have now become additional storage/back-ups are secure and ready!

I use these for travel and simply keeping all my externals (5 in total!) dust-free. They are very sturdy and little money for the precious cargo!

My brother bought the Orico one a few weeks ago, surprisingly good quality and well worth the money.

I bought the Orico one last week and it has worked perfectly.
I've cloned two SSD disks with it no problem.
Don't be a hardware snob! ;-)

If you have a modern ASUS mobo which supports usap, you are better off getting the inateck with uasp support. Works out £15.99. That one also has a power switch as well as normal usb connector (which I prefer more)

Wasn't aware of USAP. Thanks for sharing.

No worries. Your's is still a good deal. you'll find usap adds £3 ontop of usb 3.0 products anyways. But if u don't need the extra speed usb 3.0 is good enough.

I bought one of those Inateck caddy, and it is the best one I have bought out of 3 different makes.
I would personally recommend it

Thanks! I was leaning towards this one myself now. For the HUKD rules, I could not post it.

I've been on the lookout for an Anker item to buy along with the Anker 60w charger, so that I'd get 30% off the charger price … I think this might be just the thing. Thanks OP, heat added
