Anker® 25W 5-Port Desktop USB Charger £13.99 - Sold by AnkerDirect and Fulfilled by Amazon

£13.99 @ AnkerDirect
Looks like a decent price, I know the 40W is often on offer but it's not right now so this might be useful to someone who needs one for the new year and isn't fussed about wattage. Read More

these are great devices..have one at home permanently wired in for charging 2 iPads and other usb bits in a dock....have a 40W one for travelling....well worth the money and the ANKER kit is greta quality and from what Ive read their customer service is top notch

I use my 40w one all the time, it never gets a rest.

yep the "problem" with these is they "buzz" (i have a couple of the 40W ones) really loudly when you plug things in .. what i find is that if you plug in and out the last item added again then the buzzing mostly goes way .. i retuened one b4 trying this .. its a shame as i guess they get lots of returns because of this .. but i have got a couple since and am very happy with them (buzzing workaround aside)

I had a 25W one recently go bad on me. The 1st IQ USB port stopped working (After 4 months) but i got a replacement straight away. I now have a 40W one which is working great. I trust Anker and have everything from USB cables, portable battery chargers, bluetooth speakers and phone batteries and that 25W is the only one to fail yet.

is there any benefit in having a 40W over this if it's only going to be charging 2 iphone 6s?
#7
I do need something like this atm but it seems a bit expensive.

Dang, Heated before I realised its only the 25W one.

Does the 40w version charge the devices quicker?
#11
I've now had three of the 40w chargers and all three have stopped working within a month.

I've used different cables, different wall outlets and tried them in different buildings.

That aside the customer service is fantastic. However it goes to show that they must be well aware of some of the more persistant problems.

I've also had 3 of their portable (lipstick style) chargers stop working on me.

Just my luck! :D

I'm sure it does! But let someone with more knowledge advise you better!

Going to vote cold. The 40w is only £2 more when the £4 code is floating around (which by the look of deals previously posted, they have fairly often)

bought before for £15 and fantastic piece of kit, actually a lot smaller than i thought it would be, brilliant build quality. Charges 5 iPod Touch's from dead with battery symbol to full in about 45 mins.

I felt that the title was self explanatory, just left it blank and it defaulted to that

I have a pair of these - one 25W & a 40W model - both great, but if I was buying now I'd wait for a deal on the 40W unit - the 25W seems soooo slooow compared to 40W in terms of charge times. The 40W is really the successor to this unit & I can only think these are now old stock.

I have the 40w one. It really is a great product. I have noticed a buzzing noise as some other people have mentioned. Also on Amazon I noticed that many people have reported that these eventually fail. So far I have had no problems with mine. Highly recommended. I hear great things about Anker support too which is reassuring.
#21
Only problem is, whilst it states a Sale price it's actually been this price for months & only £16 previously. So no great deal.

Been using the 40w for months, flawless no buzzing or anything. Bought lots of anker products for Xmas gidts

That was a faulty batch apparently. I contacted anker and then sent me another (quiet) one.

They don't all buzz noticeably. I had one, when it was charging 5 devices if you stuck it to your ear then yes it buzzed if it's on the table where the remote controls live then no they certainly don't (unless you're superman)

I had one for 13 months then I noticed my phone going nuts one evening when plugged in, realised it was the port switching on/off over & over.

Sunday night I emailed support by 9am I had a reply apologising profusely, offering an instant refund or an upgraded product with the IQ ports. I took the offer of a replacement up and it arrived Tuesday they also said keep the old one (it was only one dodgy port so it's now used to charge the kids remote control helicopters).

Brilliant products, brilliant company and no I don't work for them or get paid by them

I do need something like this atm but it seems a bit expensive.

You're joking right?!?!? Genuine lightening cables cost more than this!!! If you have a lot of tech, these are great, no need to have all of your sockets taken up by bulky chargers!!!! :)
#26
Had a 25w version that packed up after first use. Sent it back for refund. Now have a 40w version that I prefer and it works fine and does not buzz.

I would wait for the offer on the 40w since it is more flexible - no restrictions on which port to use.

Seems like the buzz and failure are problems that get fixed quickly.

i think the 25W one only allows "auto sensing" on 2 ports which in simple terms means you can only charge anything on 2 ports and lower powered devices on the rest .. the 40W youre good to go on all ports .. 40W one is th one to get
#29
our one is faulty after just 6 months, the IQ port and port 3 have stopped working which upon googling I see happens sometimes. I have contacted Anker who are very helpful so hopefully they will replace ours. They're great when they work tho :)

Or you could have this for the same money. Gets very good and similar reviews:

fair enough :-)

Silly question? I have an Anker e5 battery pack that comes with no charger. Can I connect to this and expect it to charge in the quickest time - for this I need a 2A charger.
