Anker have sent me a discount code for their black external mini battery rated at 3000mAh.

Anker Astro Mini 3000mAh External Battery with PowerIQ™ Technology - black version available for only £10 at amazon using code.

Code: 2NDPOWIQ

I have the silver version and it came in really useful whilst I was at Glastonbury when I needed a quick charge and no power sockets available.
Build quality was exceptional and unexpected at the price I paid. It has held up well to being flung about in my backpack over the weekend.

Says it doesn't come with an iphone cable, yet the picture shows a lightning cable. A bit misleading
Are you the guy that complains his car doesn't come with a model naked across a hood because you was mislead??

How do I get back to the HotUKDeals site? I must be on the HotUSADeals site instead!! :p

Have you checked what is causing the battery drain? My old Galaxy Nexus had a small battery but there were a few culprit apps making it worse

Great piece of kit and lovely aluminium build quality (think HTC One), but I can't help thinking it should be a little smaller. 3000mah isn't THAT much.

There is a bit of a difference with that and a picture showing the battery, the box and all the manuals and clearly a lightning cable, you expect phone chargers to come with cables... Also the only phone they have an image for is an iPhone 5S. While it is hardly false advertising crime of the century it is imo a bit misleading. you expect phone chargers to come with cables..

Thanks!! I had ordered something similar for £13 with a few other items but as they haven't been dispatched I managed to cancel it and order this instead. You saved me £3 mate!

I doubt that this was ever £39.99. If it was, more fool those who bought it!

Get a proper phone and any micro USB cable will do. Buy Apple and they will do their best to try to ensure compatibles are not available.

I don't understand the heat here, 3000 mAh will not be enough for one full charge for a number of phones. You can get a 12000 mAh battery for £20 so why you would want a quarter of that capacity at only half the price I just cannot fathom.

Maybe so, but there's no battery indicator and only one outlet. It only puts out 1A so you can't charge most tablets with it unless you want to wait hours and their marketing is contradictory too...

From their site...

"Compatible with all Apple and Android smartphones, tablets and other 5V input USB-charged devices. The iPod nano, Samsung and Asus tablets and some GPS and Bluetooth devices are not supported."

Space and caring issues may be the cause of it .. just a guess..:)

I don't think you would consider charging a 6000mAh tablet with a 3000mAh battery. These at best have 60-70% efficiency, so you're left with 2000mAh, just extra juice for your smartphone on a long day out.

...but the manufacturer says you can charge a tablet with it, so it must be designed to do so. In any case there are some much better alternatives for the money and in no life of mine, nor yours, would this ever be worth £40!
