got this one to play nursery song for my son via a microsd card, reasonably loud , battery life phenomenal up to 12-14 hours depending on loudness

Why? Because it's powerful with 12W, works from mains or 20h from batteries. Looks good and it's pretty big. Can't go wrong for 12.99

ah ok, didn't realise could power from mains - did a search

dont think the 12w means much though really, quality over quality etc
can you not run these via the charge cable if after a 'fixed' solution? speakers i have can charge and play anyway

If you find it crap than you got 30 days return from Anker support. As long as you don't compare to Bose Soundlink mini or Sonos Play X)

It is surprisingly good. Be aware that if using with Echo Dot with Bluetooth it'll power off after half an hour of no sound even when plugged in. Using aux it won't. But dual USB power adapters are too noisy and you hear a lot of interference on the speaker so you really need two plug sockets. You can 3d print a tower for the two from thingiverse to make it look like a small echo too.

Arrived yesterday, packs quite a punch for a device of its size.
