Unfortunately without the MFI Certification, I wouldn't touch them. Mainly because of an Apple update, which can stop the the Apple device from charging if not certified.

Its a shame because they look good quality, and a great price.

I won't vote either way.

even if it does not work when apple decide to stop it, the cables should still charge the phone when it is turned off. the mfi certification is software on the phone. in my view worth it for a charger lead that hopefully won't disintegrate as fast as a genuine one. good point though and something for people to be aware of.

I agree, it will charge the phone when switched off. My phone becomes my bedside clock and alarm at night. So I need to be able to charge it whilst it switched on.

However I guess it's worth a try. As Amazon has a good returns policy. So there shouldn't be a problem if the don't work with your phone,

Yeah without mfi certification I'm out too

Poundland sell a very decent 2m cable for, wait for it, £1. Doesn't throw up any warning messages, and charges as quick as any other cable. If and when Apple flag it, I'll bin it and move on.

I use them too, never had a problem :)

Not sure if the MFI really makes much difference. I've had about 3 supposedly good quality braided Anker cables all just stop working properly after a while. They just stop charging and you have to keep replugging the phone in until it works. Replacements are ok, but again stop working properly after a while. Will just have to go back to Apple ones which is a shame because those are a bit thin and easily broken.

Doesn't charging an iPhone immediately power the phone back on when it reaches about 10%?

What I was going to say. So you wouldn't get that 100% charge. As soon as it turns on it will warn you about fake charger and stop charging.

Only Gold and Rose Gold available via Amazon (Prime) now. Grey still available with free delivery via Ankoda direct, but with a much longer delivery lead time.

Only if the battery died and you then plugged it in for a charge. If you have battery left, turn it off and put it on charge it doesn't crotch itself on...
Never used a non-Apple charger and probably wouldn't.

I was reading something the other about Apple lightning cables where the fourth connector goes black due to some electrical spark that happens when you plug it in. This stops that side of the charger working and you need to flip it over and use the other side.

This one is same price, MFI certified, best selling cable:

Could have done with several packs of these - but need them for the old 30 pin connector. Can't see any decent deals for the older ipads.

I agree with the anker ones, great quality but stop working within a month or so. Yet to find one as long and as good quality. If you find one let me know
