Key features
- The glass lid allows you to monitor the contents of the pot during the cooking process.
- Works well on all types of hobs, including induction hob.
- Made of stainless steel, which makes the pan durable and easy to clean.
- The base has one layer of aluminium between two layers of stainless steel, which gives an even heat and reduces the risk of food burning and sticking.
- Steam vent reduces pressure so that food does not easily boil over.
- The pot and the 1.4-litre saucepan have a glass lid, which does not conduct heat away from the pan and helps bring the food quickly to the boil and reduces energy consumption.

I had a look at these the last time I was in Ikea. I don't think much of the way the handles are joined to the pan - they aren't going to last.

Many years ago I worked at Swan Housewares - we spent a lot of time designing products where the handles didn't fall off, the bases didn't warp, and safety features like curly cords on kettles. If we ever needed motivation, there was a collection of pictures of burns and scalds and other domestic injuries from the local hospital. Just a thought.

Even setting concerns about safety aside, I would rather buy a hot deal which is going to last than one that is going to be landfill in a year's time.

I'm very annoying when it comes to pa s I will only buy if they have riveted handles but if you're just starting out these would be good as a stop gap

Been using these since we got an induction hob last year and had to ditch all the pots and pans we had except one frying pan...! Yep, the way the handle joins to the pots isn't great BUT I use them a lot, they work well on induction hobs and nowt has got stuck them! Impressive for a fiver.

Did you need to buy a screwdriver to assemble it?

Just used whatever I had lying around already. Think they're crosshead screws?
