I believe in the paper today it stated Marks are planning another 20% off day in on Thursday so if you plan to buy anything may be worth waiting!

Also believe they plan 40% ALL Dresses and Party Gear as well!

EDIT: It is possible this may happen next week and not this - but definately happening according to the press. May happen both weeks! So hang onto your money for now...

Great stuff - thanks! Hopefully might be able to get some bits I missed last week.
#3
Thats great thanks for that
#4

#5

#6
Thanks :-) May hold out for a Debenhams one too!

Missed both last week!

I made a special trip down last week but everything i wanted was sold out, so went & got it all on sunday (all back in stock!) oh well, never mind!
#8
I just hope the delivery estimations are right then! I got an email this morning about the last one syaing there was a delay in processing because of demand :(
#9
Can someone confirm that this is online as well.
#10
I ordered mine online last week with the 20% off. Have had an email today saying order is delayed but should be here by 1st December.
#11
Is this on all goods or just selected depts please?
#12
also received email saying delayed delivery,
#13
oh dear I'm going to be skint ='[ their sales are so addictive!

My delivery date was also delayed, was suppose to be coming today but changed it to 1st December :( A lot of the things I've ordered have came down in price by about 20% aswell! candle holders were £9.50 and they're now £7.60... so 20% off on top of that, and 3 for 2.. looks like you could get them hella cheap!

Saw plenty of people last week taking goods back that they bought the day before for a refund and buying them back so they got their 20% off. M&S were happy to oblige
#15
Hot, although it was hell last time!!
#16

because of everyone is aware of that!!!
#17
I ordered stuff last week and it came yesterday! Am very impressed! Wish there wasn't another one this week I'm going to be skint!!lol
#18
I got myself a nice winter coat and a new suit in York last Thursday, the shop was really quiet after 7pm and no problems with stock.
#19
will there be 20% for tvs or computers bought online?
#20
does this 20% discount apply to electrical items such as gaming? As i am looking to buy the xbox 360 elite :)
#21
My order from last week is on it's way now. I ordered 6 rolls of xmas wrap in 3 for 2 offer, but didn't spot until dispatch notification that my order had gone through as only 5 instead. Rang up to say one was missing but it was too late to do anything, had a bit of a moan and they credited my account with £5 for the inconvenience which was fair enough. Pretty good customer service really.

No electrical items in the sale as they only make 5% roughly on each item
#23
dont forget the 25% off 6 bottles of wine or champagne which will make it 45%

M&S opened early last thursday and there was a girl outside yanking people in. I went in at 0830 and did myself proud.

Sending my wife down this week.
#25
Cheers, voted hot!
#26
I went last week, it was great, I believe its 20% off on all clothing departments. I asked someone last week he smiled and said "Everything, if you can see it its 20% off!" They are happy to give you a gift receipt so if you're buying christmas presents and need an exchange you don't have to pay the price difference. There are different deals on food and wines!
#27
Are we sure it's this Thursday? On MSE Belfastgirl23 posted a link to a story in the Telegraph that says it could be in December (the 4th): http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/recession/3512248/MandS-planning-second-one-day-sale-as-high-street-becomes-hooked-to-discounts.html

i work for marks and spencer and was told it was going to be in december, ill find out when i get to work what date its defo on
#29
It may have been delayed until next week but the newspaper review on the radio this morning said it was this week. Apologies if thats incorrect but still workth keeping in mind as it WILL happen. This week or next but soon thats for sure. Just trying to save people buying now :)
#30
I would be very surprised if it was happening this week as I'm a member of staff and I haven't heard anything! It would seem particularly unlikely with there currently being 25% off six bottles of wine or champagne, although with an extra 20% staff discount I would welcome it ;-)

yeah....you staff get amazing deals....

A guy i know works for M+S.....last week ,when the 20% off was on....he got....20% off + 10 % off for buying 6 bottles + £5 off for buying 12 bottles...+20% staff discount.

so thats 55% off a £100 ! better than half price.
#32
gutted its not on food though:(
but still hot

because of everyone is aware of that!!!

I wasnt suggesting that people do. Was pointing out that this isnt a new thing and that they have down this before in better times.

With the knowledge that M&S can comfortably afford to lower all their prices by 20% I shall never shop there. Shows how much they rip people off at normal prices.
#35
This is on the 4th December not this Thursday
#36
Any idea whether this will be on furniture too? They've already got a buy 2 save 30% deal on

Just because they do it on one day doesn't mean they can comfortably afford to lower all their prices long term!

Not a chance it will be this week as M&S would lose out on the 2.5% cut in VAT. Especially on the amount of stock they will shift with their 20% event.

It's not M+S who lose out on the 2.5% , it's the punters, if they don't lower their prices next week it is a 17.5% sale

Wow, a company that's in business to make money?!? I think what you're after is a charity shop.
