Voted hot, this is just £188.08 if you want it without the monitor
#2
Its only £541.16 with the 24" screen 2407fwp.
#3
I'm in work, so can't check the dell website out, but any chance of windows xp mce on this one?
#4
Reiterating what MikeT has already stated in a previous post. The C521 is a slimline case, so adding graphics cards after the fact may be problematic.

Just need to make sure you buy a half height card and not a standard one!
#6
That's correct, but it may limit your choice of the budget cards somewhat. And it's certainly worth knowing in advance!

Cracking base unit for £188. Ordered, missed out on this mornings, so great stuff.

how does this chip compare to the Intel 4300 core2duo?

Its only £541.16 with the 24" screen 2407fwp.

It's showing as 525.89 for me and the monitor is currently on offer at £522.58! Not a bad spec PC for £3.31.

It does say 2407FPW rather than 2407WFP but it seems to be a typo.
Even taking into account the Easter offer on the monitor for ~£407, it's still a very hot deal.
I think they may well be clearing out old stock as there's a new version of the 2407WFP released.

P.S.
I'm tempted to buy one and sell the base just to get the monitor at a good price.
[mod]#10
Just remember the monitor will have the same warranty period as the desktop ;-)

With dell machines how long does it normally take to get the pdf confirmation. I ordered a machine at 7:30 this morning and haven't had a thing.

Is there an XP option for this system by any chance?

How good is the AMD® Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ chip and what does it compared too.

I've been told to hang on a little bit longer as the new breed of chips are coming on and so should get some bargains - can any one coment on either?>??

I also misse the deals on Thursday and was in the middle on configuring it when it went :(

Thanks

Does this issue also apply to PCI (v.92 )modems...as these seem to come in different heights also?

It's £99 for the 4 year on-site service for the whole system which isn't bad considering how cheap the monitor is. I've resisted the temptation to phone them to haggle over the warranty.

Hi guys - and thanx to all for these Dell posts - I'm thinking of two of these, but need answers to:

1) Can I order vista premium on only one system and then upgrade vista basic on the other with the same license? Is this poss w/out install. discs? (It would save £23.49 if it is)

2) Is it worth haggling with Dell to reduce the delivery charges? They charge full amt x 2 but surely requires only a single delivery...?

many thanx. (If no reply soon, I'll talk to Dell and post their response here)
#27
i dont think the above deal is good value- if you look at the expired e521 deal for £352, with your upgrades it would still work out cheaper- the only thing you are really benefitting from is an increase in mhz on your ram 667 from 533mhz
i spent ages with an online assistant trying to resurrect and old code- if they have your details in the system - they can still offer it- but if you dont you're scuppered with this new non-deal offer

I took the £17 mouse off yesterday with my first and second orders.
Got my confirmation mails through today :-)
Then had a second email asking to select a mouse (one from 3; standard, premium & lazer, all of which were at an extra cost) or the orders would be cancelled within 3 days !! :-(
Dell offered the Premium for £5 which wasn't too bad.
I'll wait and see what is taken from my account !
Still this and the original deal were amazing !

How do you haggle with Dell? What sort of thing is easy to get? I've been looking at systems today, but a better deal might make my mind up.

If there is a number (DRSE5202) for example then log into quidco, do a search for dell through quidco and then when you arrive at the Dell site type in the number and you should get the cash back.

Not all purchases track but the last three Dell purchases have validated within 2 days.
