Past sales at my local B&Q have been rubbish so i'll be giving this one a miss...not voting hot or cold....but thanks for the heads up being your first post :)
#2
Same here, I waste my time going to the store to have a look, because all they have is the same stuff from last time, damaged or filthy **** or unboxed tatt, or cookers that look like they have 10 years of dust on them for a couple of quid discount!

Thanks for the heads up.
#4
Voted hot as I have picked up some bargains in the past - including a trampoline and a shed.
#5
voted hot, 3 rolls of loft insulation seems good to me. Especially with gas and elec prices rising, and winter round the corner
#6
shed and insulation sound good to me!
#7
Where did you hear about this sale? Do most things go in the first hour?
#8
They had lots of the £10 insulation last bank holiday at my local B&Q good bargain.

I agree it did used to be on a Friday. Also, from my experience, all the best bits did go by 9am (but I think they may open earlier than normal?)
#13
was friday but have changed to saturday as they realised that everyone was just coming in for the good stuff and not buying anything else as was on way to work.
#14
Hav you got any pics from the flyers?

Most types of spots require at least a 100mm air gap so the heat they produce can dissipate, although the insulation is fireproof it is not advisable to cover your lights.

if you go to the building section of your local B&Q store, you can buy the metal covers for your spots, they just sort of slot over the top and your insulation goes round it... Not that i'm up selling lol

Telephoned B&Q Wolverhampton - Starts Saturday not Friday, It was recommended that we are there for 7am as most of it goes straight away! Not even the staff seem to be sure as to what will be included..?

Yes all the stores have different opening hours.

All my locals open at 8am on a Saturday and during the week. Others outside my local area open 7am weekdays but 8am Saturdays - some 7am Saturdays.

Best to check your local stores opening times on the diy.com site

I phoned my B&Q Depot and they said that 3 rolls for £10 has never been an offer. They said it's £10 EACH, which is a reduction of £5 making it 1/3 off.

Made me feel well stupid, cold added. :x :x :x

can guarantee you that it is on offer it will be B&Q branded and will come in a pack of 3 rather than 3 individual ones, so suppose it is £10 each but you get 3 in the pack.

is it a bosch or black and decker as stated by the op and what voltage

also any idea what kind of shed, overlap or T&G

thanks
#27
pretty sure was bosch,
for £75 very much doubt it is tongue and grove
#28
This is NOT the one on saturday, but from previous going going gone sales - if it's the same as previous ones it is only 'top up' loft insulation.

http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/content/marketing/Going_going_gone/ggg22-08-08.pdf

This is 200mm. 250mm is recommended, but this should do.
#30
Good work Premier
#31
I have 100mm insulation a the moment, so this 200mm should make it nice and snug!
#32
You know you can get your loft and walls insulated by your energy company for cheap? Saves you doing it yourself. I got my loft done for about £200 last summer.
#33
At these prices I only need to spend about £60 to do the whole house
#34
No 75 quid sheds left in Bristol by 07:45 - tried three stores.
#35
No £75 sheds in stock at all at West Thurrock at 7.00am this morning. Not impressed.

Not impressed here either. Wife went to Wednesbury at 6.30 and was near the front when they opened the doors. No-one was around to ask where the sheds were so she headed off towards where they usually were only to find they were somewhere else, and by the time she found them the measily 6 they had were gone - snapped up by people that were behind her in the queue. Another lady was in tears as she was at the front and did the same thing and ended up with nothing. She had left her kids with her mom and came out especially early to get one as she couldn't afford full price. The staff really should have come out to ask the people at the front of the queue if they wanted a shed, knowing that they only had 6, and it would have avoided all this. My wife said she would have given hers away to her if she had got one herself, she felt that bad. My wife then bombed it over to Wolverhampton to be told that they had the sheds, but only pack B! Pack A had been delivered somewhere else so they couldn't sell them. P1ss up and brewery spring to mind! :whistling:

"Mom"?! (You're not from these shores are you?!)

Pointless 'shedding' a tear over a missed shed....it's a place you keep a lawnmower, not something you need to feed your kids. Now if she was 'Bernie Flint' & missed out on the last kilo of long grain rice...then, perhaps....but a an 'overlap' 1.74m shed for storing garden junk? Get a grip.

You don't understand, we love our sheds in this neck of the woods. They are like part of the family. I've been gazing at my old one through the window just now while X Factor was on, although I would have been looking at a shiny new one if it wasn't for those heartless B&Q b'stards. Mind you if I'd seen that woman crying and I had nabbed a shed I wouldn't have given mine - she could have had my old one though, if she could put up with it leaning to the right a little bit

p.s. do you say 'mommy' where you come from sir? :?

Wolverhampton store had none! Or at least they had a bit of two, the rest were at the Wednesbury store. Stingy misers at B&Q, I don't think I'll bother again.:x
