Hi they are 2.1 shares between each port these are 4.2 shares between each pair so should be able to charge two devices at 2.1 instead of 1a

Completely different, the screwfix one is aimed at people who know what they need, the Argos one is aimed at people who think they know what they need - make up your own mind about the cold votes.

Hot from me. 4.2A is way more useful. Do you know if it pulls power even when unused like most do?

of course it will.

Thanks. I assumed it would. Wish they would make a version that only pulled power when a cable was inserted but I'm sure there's a perfectly logical reason why its done the way it is. :)

No power is used when there is nothing connected to the USB.

Yes there is as the switch mode power supply is still energised, granted it will be a tiny amount and will cost pennies per year to run but the fact you have a non isolated device permanently connected to your fixed wiring should be given more consideration before you decide to fit one.

Their may be a minuscule amount of current running through the electronics in the USB charger. but realistically it would be much less than having your TV on standby, basically nothing.

Like me you are thinking 2 x 2.1a sockets...so why do they bother putting 4 holes when most of us are looking for a 2 socket 4.2a one?!
