Great shout 1C3MAN! Now to see if I can get Lost Planet form my local store....
#2
i cant see the promotion.... you got a direct link??
#3
Its instore only.
#4
ah ok - is it really ANY 2 games?
#5
Thats what it said, i should have queried it when i was in there.
#6
they are doing the same instore in Currys as well:thumbsup:
#7

I am not happy - I just bought Lost Planet from them a few hours ago (reserved online), so I didnt see any offers. I would have bought snooker aswell if I had known :x
... Anyway I phoned the PCWorld helpline, and they informed me that it was an offer with a newspaper voucher only :whistling: Which I wouldnt have thought to be true if they are advertising promotion on the shelves.

What do you think my chances are for popping in tommorow, and asking to re-purchase game with offer ????

Trouble is its been opened :-( ... I literally played it for half an hour then did my mid-afternoon check at Hotdeals then found out about promotion :-( .

I have reserved both games just in case (to collect tommorow) ... as I would have thought they could 'return' one copy of Lost Planet (ie the new one) and sell me my copy back with the Snooker 2007 game also :whistling: But i will have to be honest and upfront with them.

I always use reserve online cause the store is 25miles away, so I never 'browse' the shelves normally. So, my argument in essence would be , that they are punishing me for using their resevre online functionality :-(

Anybody know about whether its a newspaper coupon offer - I did ask PCWorld helpline what paper it was, or even if it was a todays paper. Which they said they couldnt answer :? :whistling:

Buy 2 more (including another sealed Lost Planet) and then take the sealed one back with original receipt!
#13
Easy... Buy the games on the 2 for 60 offer.

Then take the new unopened game back on the old receipt :)

:giggle: :giggle: :giggle: ..... Why didnt I think of that :-D
.... Im usually good that those sort of things, guess Im getting old. Remember 'honesty never pays' - or at least with most retailers ;-) .

Hello, I just went to my local store this afternoon......I was told that the LOST PLANET SPECIAL EDITION is not included in this offer...I don't know why.....did anyone actually buy it????
#19
Most retailers wont accept refunds on computer games full stop. Opened or not!!
#20
depends on the store policy, only reason for refusing refunds is for piracy, which doesnt apply if its sealed.
Some stores just prefer to give exchanges rather than refunds to keep you in the store, its not really anything to do with computer games. Just policy.

My dad was in pc world earlier and didnt say it needed a coupon. im going to purchase snooker in a minute :)

Definitely big sign up instore on Tuesday in PC World. Was thinking about buying a couple but the only game I'm thinking of getting at the mo is Star Trek Legacy.....

If you are going for this deal you may want to see if you can combine it with the "buy any Xbox game get a reduction on Xbox live" but this may be online only (see earlier thread).

Game do, and woolworths, up to 30 days if the seal is not broken.

Depends what you like. Call of Duty 3 (COD3) and Gears of War (GOW) are both very good shooters. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) and Rainbow Six Vegas are also popular.

If you have young children Lego Star Wars is pretty good.

If you're on a budget I'd recommend COD2 and GRAW which you can get new for around £18 each.

If you are into racing Project Gotham Racing is also good and the price for this has also dropped.

Some original Xbox games are compatible with the 360. This includes things like Halo, Halo 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 5, the original Splinter Cells and Forza Motorsportand these can be picked up 2nd hand.

If you are into footie games and are thinking of getting Pro Evo 6 I would read some reviews first. There are some reports that apart from slightly better graphics there is little improvement on PES 5....

went and picked up snooker... and call of duty 3 as a present for someone.

He tried to put them both through seperate as collect in store, then i said but it wont do the offer then.

So he says oh you want to do the 2 for 60 quid offer.

hmmm no i'll pay £10 extra if thats ok? lol

and there's not too big a difference between COD2 and COD3 apart from slightly better graphics but COD2 is still a top game.
Make sure you get the 360 version of COD2. COD1 will work on the 360, COD2 for the original Xbox will not work on the 360.....

Seen this too, when i was instore at pc world braehead today, but i am pretty sure it's certain games only, although the HUGE sign above all the games is definitely very misleading.
It was also advertised in the paper today, but did not say it was a voucher.

Anyway i had reserved lost planet special edt using the collect and reserve today for £39.99, when i went in there were NONE at all, not even the normal version.
When i went to the collect at store desk, the guy had to go in the back of the store to get it, thought he was gonna say there were none.

The only place i think the reserve feature ACTUALLY works is argos, numerous times i have been into collect a game at pcworld i have reserved from the night before, and they dont even have the game!

When they put it through the till in pc world if they dont enter your reserve code, it still shows they have stock in that store, (happens all the time).
Where as argos, have a full proof system, if you reserve it they CANT sell it!

Rant over.

i went to PCWorld got a xbox 360 with Gears of War and Rainbow Six for £280and then any 2 games for £60...games i got were Need For Speed:Carbon and Lost Planet the Special Edition Tin version proper chuffed!:-D
#34
has anyone played snooker? it seems a bit pants lol
#35
How did you get it for 280 if I may ask, I went to mine tonight to see if I could get the same pack, but it was up for 299. Also they had none left :(
#36
there was a 360 deal last weekend or the one before for premium and any two games for £280
#37
Yeah, I say that offer, but JDX says they got Lost Planet, so they must of got it today, I guess.
#38
oh right I see what you mean ! ;)
#39
Thanks for trying to help :)

Just been to my local PC World, and the sign definitely says 2 for £60, without any T&C's. I'd push them for it if I was going. They didn't have the limited editions of Lost Planet or Gears of war so I'm still thinking about it.
