This price will tumble when they realise that the Kinect is not as good as originally marketed.

Here we go.........

Lets not turn this into a Wii VS ps3 VS Kinect thread. This is the best price for Kinect games at the moment. As with everything, things always drop in price eventually.

PS - I think its actually better then marketed, but hey, its personal opinion :)

This is an awesome price, will have to check my local asda. Cheers.

@JAB, Have you even used kinect yet.
#4
Just out of curiosity, the people that are voting this deal cold, can you point me in the direction of better priced kinect games?
#5
not voting either way. ill stick with my Wii for a motion cotrolled experience. my 360 is for shooting, hack n slashing and beat em ups.

Interesting Kinnect review here: http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/04/kinect-for-xbox-360-review/

After watching the above video and even though I dont have any next gen console, I was hoping for more accuracy from the Kinect as an (exciting) technology. In time it may improve with better algorithms, but until then I think the Move will have the edge in accuracy and therefore playability.

With respect to the advert headline "Be the Sole Controller - No Gadgets and Gizmos, Only Xbox Kinect"
Surely the Kinect is a gadget?

Still a good price on these games though

Great price thanks, had a lengthy go of Kinect in my local PC World store. I was really impressed, it's not until you try it for yourself that you realise how accurate it is and how much fun the games are (played Kinect Sports & Kinect Adventures). Going to be picking a Kinect up this weekend!

It's going to make a nice change switching from Call Of Duty:Black Ops to Rafting down a river in Kinect Adventures.

Just been playing Kinect Adventures with the missus and its superb. Body movements are very accurate and amazing when I sit down and the missus stands in front of the Kinnect it recognises her and loads her profile!

As a gadget hound, this is on my to do list. But I do agree that prices are going to bomb, so I'm waiting it out.

Kinect is better than expected

I have been testing it for 4 months
and tbh i wasnt going to get it
it has surprised me how well it works with the right game
bowling in kinect sports is one example where its ace

Yugh, can all the nay sayers please leave Kinect threads alone? Nobody forces you to buy anything, can you stop spoiling the fun for those who do like it? Jeez, people are so selfcentric these days. Not everything is about you, you, you. Just let others enjoy their new gadgets. We get it, Kinect is a lot of money. Fork it up or get lost, you guys and your arguments are boring.

I've been playing with if for the last couple of hours, and I have to say it's much better then I thought.
OK so 100% of the time, it's not 100% accurate, but it's very close.

Voice recognition works well (although there needs to be more of it), I can sit on my sofa (about 7ft away) and say in a quite voice "Xbox" and it picks it up!

No better price, so voting this hot! Good find!
Wife already wants the sport and fitness games :)

Just been playing kinect sports and its brillaint. Only played football and bowling so far, but would give it 10/10! The soundtrack is great too!

Cant understand why people are voting this cold! If you know of better prices, please share with everyone!
Just because YOU think the kinect is overpriced or because you prefew the wii/ps3, thats no reason to vote a deal cold.

Im amazed that Asda can also sell the Kinect for £127, cheapest price around, and that deal got -350 because of people thinking its overpriced to start with. The fact this allows you to play games without any controllers and has so many features, I can understand why the hardware is expensive.

I assumed it came with all of these games for the price!

Got to admit, I'll get one, but this time next year when they're around the £50 mark, including all the games.

And I'm normally an early adopter, but Kinect is a real novelty item, in my opinion.

Still haven't unboxed mine since it was delivered at 8am today, still unsure whether to keep it or send it back.

CEX will offer £127 in cash for it but I think I can return it to Game just by taking it instore anyway. Some of the games look OK but there isn't really anything that stands out to me right now, although I am quite curious about kinectimals. :)

The hardware is likely way ahead of it's time. Had this have been marketed with a brand new console then people would probably be all over it but admittedly it is a very expensive addon.

You just saved me a wad of cash. That's the clearest indication I've seen so far that the Kinect isn't any good. Yet.

2 for £60?
wheres the deal?
normal games sell for around £30 anyway.....these are kinect shovelware.

"Thats quite a saving compared to retailers such as GAME, Gamestation and HMV etc."
shooting my self in the leg would be good compared to someone who shoots himself in the head......their still both stupid things to do.

Can you find the games cheaper elsewhere? No? Well, there's the deal then. It's not rocket science.

I can find the two that I want cheaper in Argos. Dance Central £30.99 and Kinect Sports £30.99 are the games I want based on reviews on Amazon.com (not co.uk). When bought together I also get a £5 Argos voucher. I will also buy them using the £10 Argos voucher I will get when I pick up the £129.99 Kinect as well.

What a rubbish review! Im playing the kinect in a small space and have no problems at all. You better off listening to normal people that have purchased it then review sites which normally favour once console over another.

Kinect is kak, I have a 360 so I'm not a PS3 or Wii fanboy, it really is utter rubbish.

In the long term you may be correct. My Wii fit has been gathering dust for the last year. When we first got it it was brilliant, but not now the novelty has worn off. Half the fun though for most is getting it when it first comes out. I would also say that the 234 reviews on amazon.com averaging 4.5 stars do it for me.

Good deal x Liking Argos one too x x
To all you haters out there, get a life x if you don't like Kinect fine, but stop commenting on peoples threads x this is hotdeals.co.uk not reviews.co.uk

The 360 is my favourite console, but i have a Wii and i have Move for the PS3, and due to the price of the Kinect i think i'll hold off for a while. Not even that impressed with the PS Move yet, although Sports Champion is quite good, and i thought that looked better than the Kinect.
#30
I have it sitting in front of me boxed as my gf said she got it for me for Xmas! So I can't use it till them! Ps this deal is uber incred. Hot from me!

Novelty item, maybe, depends on the 2nd wave of games.

Will it drop in price, not likely in the near future, Xbox peripherals have not been reduced much at all, since there launce, controllers and headsets are about the same price they were at launch.
#32
Hot from me. I think kinect is really good, got ours thursday and been playing it all weekend. Never really bothered with the wii and its been gathering dust for a while now but loving this. We got our kinect, plus dance central and kinect sports for free but i definately would have been happy to pay full price for the lot.

Voted hot, you can never have enough new gadgets.

Have all the haters on this forum forgotten what it's like to have fun anymore?

Thats because they are still useful. However, to put your post into context, look at the Lips mics and the "You're in the movies" peripherals..... have they held their prices?!?!? Thats a big fat no then, your argument is flawed, I for one see the longevity of this device as shortlived, mark my words, this WILL plummet in value once the initial "must have everything" purchasers have been and gone.
#35
Got mine today with Sports and Fitness Evolved, it was for my missus really but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the technology is and how much fun it is to play and I'm more of a COD type gamer myself.

I have to say that it is not a gimmick if you are into physical gaming such as Dance, Fitness and Sports. It will never be a great replacement for a std controller in most other games but has the potential to supplement it with video, voice and gesture recognition.

People who say the Move is better just don't get it, it is not aimed at the same market. My advice for anyone is to go any find a shop that does demos and make your own mind up, the ill-informed bias of some people is shocking so I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion. However it is true that you need a reasonable amount of space to use it in so heed what it says on the box!

For people who think its going to be a lot cheaper in a few months, you may find it with a few quid off and maybe as low as £99 on a special offer somewhere but this is shipping in such huge volumes that MS has no reason to reduce it by much at all, imo it will still be £99 next Xmas.

This is an excellent point. I bought you're in the movies for something like a tenner, camera included. Thought "at this price, it's got to be worth a punt".

Apparently not.

I reckon you'll be able to get Kinect for less than 100 before Christmas, and less than 70 before March - and that's if it's actually good. :)

The kid in me wants Kinect.

The adult in me won't pay £125 for it.
#38
The Argos website is already advertising reduced Kinect games!
£26 for Dance Evolution and Joy Ride
£31 for several other titles too!
#39
will be getting this tomorrow after some of my friends have purchased and are extremely pleased with it - was going to wait but im a gadget freak and my kids are eager so what the hell.
i think a lot of the negativity on here are from ps fanboys who are obviosly upset about moves extremely poor sales. i read an article stating that kinect would probably surpass moves sales within 2 weeks due to sky high demand
#40
I've just finished playing Kinect Adventures against my missus and it was huge fun, you couldn't get the smiles off our faces but we both are a bit knackered now!

I think this will be massive for families looking for 'Party' style gaming over the Xmas period. So I recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one and taking advantage of the £30ish per game deals that are springing up.
