The title says it all really. Potentially 20 long life AA or AAA batteries for a fiver (and not generic branded ones either)

Instore at Currys in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, they are offering ANY 5 packs of Philips Extremelife batteries for £5 (normally £3.49 each). This can be mixed and matched, so you can get AA, AAA, C or D batteries in your '5'.

This maybe a local only offer, but when the batteries are scanned, if the assistant looks under customer offers, the price will drop to £1 per pack, so it should mean that any Currys store can do the offer.

The offer is only available this weekend.

yet another ice cold deal from the social lurker...
Voted hot, shame i missed this as yesterday purchased a pack of 8 AA Duracell plus batteries from Argos at £2.99
Cant quite understand why peeps are voting this one cold??? i thought it is quite a good price for what your getting
Have some heat from me taking you to 1 degree :giggle:
I haven't voted it one way or another but there are some other battery deals out there so maybe it's getting the cold shoulder for that reason. Also, the post, (on a very quick read), looks like an in-store offer in Wiltshire, which maybe people think is a bit too locally-specific.

I know the OP says it's possibly national but it's perhaps a bit too vague for people to jump into their motors and fill their boots with batteries!

Just a brief observation and now I'll give it a hot vote 'cos of the thought and effort behind the posting:thumbsup:

Just another thought but if you look at the original post, it looks like 4 batteries for a fiver, if you quickly scan the picture and price - too easy then to think cr*p and vote cold

I only posted it as a "potential" offer because although it came up on screen in store (and as till prices are set regionally/nationally for currys) I wasnt 100% sure if all stores would honour it or even carry the stock.

I think the title and the first line give a pretty good indication of the entire offer - the picture is just a generic illustration.

I wasnt really expecting a red hot deal, becuase there are often similar deals around, but they are good batteries and if you're doing the usual weekend DIY/Electrical store shopping at the out of town places, surely it is worth a couple of minutes to check out a good offer.

Anyway, the offer is done now, so onwards and upwards as they say.
I got mine yesterday in north london, the guy on the till already knew about it. I got 5 packs of bateries took them to the till and the guy said "the £5 deal" They are on the rack as £3.49 a pack.

so thanks again to op for posting as currys was next to argos where I was getting my 2 for £35 games from
