Greggs is evil but thanks great post!!!

why is greggs evil? For a Newcastle based company it's done really well for itself. These sandwiches are cracking, especially the steak and onion one. Voted Hot + rep. £1 thats like 70- 80p off these.
Nice find

Cheap prices does not mean it is good my friend.

All their pies arrive frozen and create lots of pollution, high carbon footprint. They have to transport them in Trucks/vans with freezers.
Most of the meat they use comes from abroad and is not regulated.
And at last they destroy all competition from local independent sandwich shops that use fresh products and pollute less.

That's it!

To be fair, I doubt they could be thrown from Newcastle, how do you suggest transporting them? Like I said in previous post, Greggs is a local baker to me, a one that sells such great tasting meat products (could be sourced from mars it wouldn't bother me they taste good).
The fella in your avatar turned out to be a complete Nutta! Jim "the warrior", has he rubbed off on you???? lol

Not joking my friend they get transported in Freezer vans and the only think that your "local" shop so is to re-heat them in the shop and to prepare sandwiches.
The meat in the pie comes from other countries and has added salt and additives and colorants. It arrives frozen in plastic containers. Each individual container is emptied in the frozen pastry that is re-heated/cooked in the shop. What a waste of plastic! And so much processed meat too!
Tastes great I know but not so good for your body and for the environment!

I know well my friend worked for them for 6 months until he gave its dismissal. He was disgusted by the practices. He now works for a local bakery and he's amazed by the quality!
