I've been dithering about this all day - I'm trying to find a friend a monitor for their Mac Mini, and their budget was about £100 tops.
As for the specs, well, on Amazon it says it's 1,000:1, SVP says it's 10,000:1 and the actual AOC spec page says it's 60,000:1

Thing is, there's no reviews I can find for this anywhere, except as part of a PC bundle which says the monitor looks pink from anything except straight on.

I don't really want to go recommending a heap of crap, but if it's 60,000:1 as per the AOC spec, that would be quite good wouldn't it?

I have been delighted with the 22" BenQ G2222HDL 1920x1080 monitor I bought a month ago. Unfortunately it appears the price is creeping upwards with the great feedback that is starting to appear online. I paid £116 but it looks like £124.99 at ebuyer is the best price at the mo.

Just so you know, it has no built in speakers.

Anything about 1000:1 is the rating from the 'dynamic contrast' function and not the contrast ratio and can safely be ignored. Right now most of the specifications are meaningless with most manufacturers claiming the same whether a particular monitor can achieve them or not. Your best guide to quality is reviews and when you can't find them how consistent the brand is in reviews for their other monitors.

Any monitor at this price is going to distort when viewed at an angle, and additionally at this size won't be perfectly consistent across the screen. It's just something she'll have to live with for anything resembling her original budget.
