Apparently very good for backing up xbox360 games, or any large files/dvds.
I have been using the more expensive verbitum DLs, at £10.99 from play:

40p a disc you must be joking
#2
The title is incorrect isnt it as it excludes VAT and delivery?

I tried adding one and with VAT (£1.57sh) and delivery (£6.99) it comes out at £12.05....
these sell at computer fairs for £6...

Howd I get free delivery?
#3
works out at 1.20sh a disc not 40p :(
#4
These are £3.49 without VAT, £4.01 with.

Free delivery is avalible to members of the AVforums, unless that offer has expired without me noticing?

Try ebuyer if you arnt a member, they come out at £6.77 posted. ~67p a disc.

@ Fingermouse: These are dual layer dvds, they are double the capacity of normal dvds, hence the higher cost.

???
Item in stock. In Stock £3.49 Ex VAT £4.01 Inc VAT and as the title says free delivery "(for those with free delivery), Im no Carol Vorderman but £4.01 divided by 10 is not £1.40 per disc. :whistling:

By the way these are very good discs for XBOX360 or Longer movies, for backup purposes of course

do you even know what kind of discs there are

There ok, I had issues with mine 6 out of 10 burned ok with my Pioneer 216. I found the ones at the following link better and cheaper (all 50 burnt perfectly) http://svp.co.uk/product/dvd_r_dl_8x_dl_white_full_face_printbale_50_cake_elite001

but everyone experiences different things when it comes to discs! Either way its still a good price, probably the cheapest on the internet, can get them cheaper offline at some places though.

Agree 100% I have the Pioneer 112 and have a 1/50 ratio I assume you have updated the firmware?
#9
somebody correct me if I am mistaken, but:
Scan's free delivery offer via AVForums and similar requires minimum spend of £20 + VAT = £23.

This may be a good filler item for orders just under the £23 MOQ, but very poor value if ordered as a one-off including charged delivery.

I haven't updated the firmware or anything, I just read one of the reviews that the discs in the link were good with the Pioneer 216 so decided to buy the drive from play and they worked fine with the Elite discs from SVP. Was very weary that they wouldn't work but was suprised they worked better for me than the Aone which have great reviews on ebuyer!

I managed to write at 8X speed with the Elite and get no errors, yet they Aone wouldnt even burn at 2.4x! Media is strange when it comes to reviews as your guaranteed for every bad review you'll get a good one! My suggestion would be to buy from SVP because if they don't work they'll offer a refund! Very good customer service!

They are great for 360 games I back mine up with them not any errors, but can only say they work for me with the Pioneer 216d which I got from play. Can't say they work for anything else as I'm not sure!

I use imgBurn and untick verify disc, burn at 8x and work flawlessly

I too have used SVP and agree with you, I have also used Scan. ebuyer and all no probs, it couyld be a firmware issue hence the errors and if backing up 360 games always burn at 2.4.

Hope this helps with any remaining aones you have.

Aye they say always burn at 2.4x but I've never had any problems with the Elite from SVP burning at 8x =] Aone wouldnt burn past 2.4x anyway! I'll always use the ones from SVP so no need for me to update my firmware for the Aone to work as it might mess up things with the Elite I'm playing it safe lol Also tried the Aone with different drives and haven't had much success but many people do so don't let it put you off!

free delivery only if orders over 20 quid ..

as such, you'd have to purchase quite alot of these to get them at the OP price.

as a result .. cold.

These 'were' good for 360's ie a year ago now they are not so good, Verbatim are a much better choice now, but cost double :-( . The old Aones were awesome, but not no more. Still for the money they are great :-D
#21
A word of warning... I have over a hundred of these AOne DL discs bought over a 6 month period, from Ebuyer, SVP and Scan so unlikely to be from the same production batch. All of the discs were burned at 2.4 or 4X using various Pioneer and Nec Optiarc writers with latest firmware. The discs were used for XBox360 or DVD video backups and all worked fine when tested after burning. 6 months later the discs all fail on the second layer so are useless.
My advice - stick with Verbatim's. They used to be more than 4X the cost of the AOnes, but now little more than 2X.

So the £6.99 P+P on the order is paid by Carol Vorderman? :w00t:

To quote the website :
1 x pack of 10 = £3.49
VAT = £1.57
P+P = £6.99
TOTAL = £12.05

Divide the Total by 10 (number of discs in a pack) and you get £1.20 PER disc!... I think ill get mine for £6 for a box of 10 instead of £12.05!!

If anyone lives by Northfield, Birmingham there is a 'printer ink' store on the high street (Bristol Road) - they sell these AOne Dual Layer 10 packs for £4. Not any good for most people on this site but maybe one or two 360 owners will be able to get there. Theyve been selling them this price for ages. Everytime I buy them the guy nods and says "360 owner?" lol. Nobody else buys DL's.

What's the name of that store mate? Is it near the Birmingham Uni or Sainsbury's end of the Bristol Rd?

Good deal - if you buy it with something else, and if you need to boost your order to a respectable over 20 pound ammount :)
