Aperture 3 is featured as £44.99 which is a bargin compared to amazon and other places at around £120..

Maybe a glitch so be quick . . .

EDIT: Its not a glitch as its in Apple's Press Release but it wont stay at this price for long.

To get the Mac App store you have to update you Mac to the latest 10.6.6 through Software Update.
If its not a glitch its a good price!

Makes the decision between Lightroom 3 and Aperture 3 a little easier to make considering Lightroom is over £200
#6
interesting... USA pricing is $79.99 in MacAppStore (MAS)
#7
Is this much better than iPhoto '11?

Its more powerful in regards to processing images compared to iphoto

Not a glitch but could be an introductory offer so I'm buying a copy before anything changes! Angry Birds is half price too at £2.99.

I'll probably buy angry birds too, as I have it on every other device so why not my macs as well . . . lol

UK:
Apple’s popular iLife ‘11 programs are available individually for £8.99 each, with Pages, Keynote and Numbers apps from iWork on sale for £11.99 a pop. There are some pricier apps too; Aperture 3 is £44.99 for example.

USA:
The Store will launch with over 1,000 titles, including Apple standards like the iLife suite broken out into separate parts (iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand) selling for $14.99 each, Pages, Keynote, and Numbers for $19.99 apiece, and the bank-breaking Aperture for $79.99. Of course there'll also be third-party apps present at launch, including Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, Pixelmator, Cheetah 3D, and Flight Control HD (yes, a port of the iPad version).

Was going to ask the same thing. Generally use Photoshop to tinker with images so not sure if to bother. Might stick with iPhoto 09 even though iPhoto 11 is only £8.99 on this new App Store. Read fair few reviews saying it is a backwards step
#14
Would definitely buy this if I were a Macfag - hot!
#15
bargain! not bitter that i paid full price on launch.

i actually still prefer version 2 but can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to roll back
#16
where can you download it from? i cant see it in itunes

You need to run software update on your mac which will download the new 10.6.6 update.
Once you mac has restarted you'll have a link to the new Mac App Store in your dock.

Click that and its in there

Can one try before one buys?
#19
there is an Aperture demo iirc, but not on the app store. jsut in general
#20
I'm sure you can download a 30 day trial from the apple.com website.

Hot Hot HOT!

That's an insane price... man I'm hoping to get into photography in some stage over the next year and I'm very tempted to pick this up now...
#24
Does anyone know how this compares to Lightroom?
#25
Just updated and had a look on the App Store. Some great deals and the pricing is fantastic!
Having read about the US pricing it looks like we are getting some great deals in the UK.
RapidWeaver 5 is £23.99 on special, that's less than upgrading from version 4!
I hope this is a sign of things to come as the pricing of Apps is fantastic when compared to retail and I'm sure this will attract a lot more developers to sign up, particularly those iOS developers wishing to cash in on the growing Mac market.
Will Adobe join in? would love to see some serious discounting for CS5 (pie in the sky I know).

another tip people sell cards on ebay for 13 for a 15 one and then use quidco or topcashback and you get a bit back and u save even more :) just bought 4 x 13 on ebay now. some members will email u the code and some send the card direct

What I'd point out is that people who have never used Aperture or Lightroom probably aren't aware that these products exist.

They've brilliant for photo management and editing, and if you're any kind of a photographer then you owe it to yourself to give them both a go.
#30
Fantastic deal, what a poke in the eye to Adobe.

Even if they get in on the App Store I can't see them pricing Lightroom this low.
#31
Just got pages/numbers £11.99 each saved over 50% from buying the box set.

Thanks
#32
if you own a camera, you should own this.
If you own a DSLR Camera, then you must own this.
Better than adobe lightroom.

Been looking at this and pondering it's purchase since getting my EOS 500D for Christmas, will defnitely be buying this when I get in as I have £40 credit on my itunes account, I take it I can pay using this credit?

Yes I think so, Its showing up that I have £1.03 in credit left over from a £25 itunes gift card
#35
I also *think* that any software purchased on the mac app store can be used on up to 5 apple computers that you own....

I'll have a look through the terms..
#36
HOT deal! Purchased before they change the price!
#37
Hot Hot Hot.
#38
Yeah, you're getting the "family pack" here. Same with iLife/iWork.
