a weighty bike is not so bad for every day road use tho

i was thinking of buying this myself i have one reserved until the end of Monday

i'm not too clued up on bikes but being a bit of a weighty lad i was told to steer clear of aluminium frames and suspension bikes although this has front suspension i don't know if that makes a difference and get wide wheels/tyres with at least 36 spokes which this has.

it seems like a good bike for the money plenty of positive reviews by satisfied customers on the site.
if you can find me something better for around the same money do tell.

It depends what you are going to do with it ... if it's road use, then you don't want fat tyres as they cause more resistance ... you are normally able to lock out front suspension (can;t see if you can on this model though) so you have the choice to have suspension operating or not - I generally keep mine on all teh time, unless doing some hill climbing and then I lock it out.

Basically, you get what you pay for - if you want a bike that feels like a piece of ****, then buy this :)

However, if you are willing to pay a little more, then buy a better bike ... as a general rule, the better quality the parts, the longer they will last you before needing to be replaced.

Best to first decide what you are going to do with the bike, and uy what is most appropriate.

Here's a link to a really helpful forum - they will be able to answer all your ike related queries :)

Where do they get their Retail prices from? £279.99???? It's a bit like that old shopping channel that had diamond encrusted watches that started at £4000 and dropped to like £500 (still £400 more than they were worth)...

Spend £100 on a used bike......

The GT Aggressor is a good all round starter bike - certainly better than the one posted here ... the fron forks alone would cover the difference in cost if you ever replaced the crappy ones on the Apollo
