Apollo Ridge mountain bike at Halfords £118.99

This mountain bike has been reduced in price by £200 and an additional 15% discount is applied at the checkout. For a Halfords mountain bike with dual suspension, a front disk brake and good reviews this seems like great value. Halfords seems to have also reduced the prices of several other mountain bikes.

Seems like a decent deal to me - so why the cold votes?

great deal.

£200 reduction... if anyone payed the claimed full price they should head off to specsavers. I guess it is ok at the reduced price, but anyone chosing to buy a bike in this price range are wasting there money on a full suspension bike.

Perhaps the cold votes are for Halfords having the cheek to claim a legit £200 reduction

Agree, RRP is a joke and a full suspension bike with discs at that price will probably snap at the first sight of a bump!! Saying that, a full suspension bike without lockout would be a fantastic workout on road!!!

Seems that the Reebok Solo would be a better buy, Not a Halfords own brand, and an Aluminium frame. costs £139.99?

I agree, but if you consider it a reduction on £169, it still seems like a deal to me.

I didn't say it wasn't a deal, I had said it was ok at this price. Ok If your looking for a cheap bike for occasional use.

Agreed - it actually look like a decent budget bike (hardtail, Shimano gears, Alu frame)

I'd rather ride of the "girls of misc" then these lumps of ****.

But can I add myself to the cold voters on the Appalling steel-frame full suspension job. It'd be a good deal at £18.99: the steel frame is easily recycled so you'd be left with some spare wheels, tyres and inner tubes.
#14
The Reebok bikes are even worse though! I'd rather have an Apollo over those Reebok bikes.

I've no doubt I'm lining myself up for cries of "bike snob", but this is a great example of expensive scrap metal.

Your £120 will buy a better bike elsewhere. The suspension on this is fashion not function, the equipment is VERY low spec and the weight is astronomical.
£340 is hilarious. It's not worth more than £50 and even at that, I'd advise you to keep your cash in your pocket.

As I've said in other threads, a pile of crap is still a pile of crap, no matter how much it's been discounted.
