Blimey, looks like a good deal! I can never understand why they don't produce the touch with that memory!
#2
An alternative deal for the classic is
the 180 pounds one at additions direct then use the 30 pound off voucher (first order) and then there is a possible 8 percent quidco.

The classic is hard disk drive based storage but the touch is flash memory based storage.

worto.

I am interested in getting a mp3 player and was wondering could the classic take handle a little hard loving? Also how speedy is it when accessing songs?

I have an 80gb version and it is normally very speedy - just click and away you go. Now and again it does seem to drag a little, but soon catches up with itself!

Apple should just make a HDD version of the Touch - couldnt hurt having it as an option.

Thanks!

Just ordered the 120Gb black version. Was actually going to buy it next Sunday from Dixons Tax Free at Gatwick (for £152.34) but this saved me the hassle. Also triple Nectar points at the moment buying from Dixons online.

Cheers,

SirHugo

I had 2 HDD ipods and both went up the swanney. My iphone with flash memory however seems built to last. The HDD went in both cases.

My old school 3rd gen....was well looked after for 3 years. Now I drop it, toss it in bags....it's DENTED NOW! And it works 100%. It copies the song it's playing into flash memory, so pause is really fast. Spinning up to playing? 5 seconds tops.

Hmmn....

Now you've thrown a spanner in the works. Not sure whether to cancel the Dixons order and go for this for about £4 more. On the other hand Dixons will earn me approx 900 nectar points, so in effect I could just buy the Griffin Reflect case from Amazon with the money I'm saving. Wish it had a belt clip though.

Decisions, decisions...

whats the 1/2 price speaker??

Emailed Dixons to cancel my order.

Amazon have literally just dropped the price of the classic iPods by a couple of quid so that decided it for me.

Cost just under £155 for the black 120Gb with the contour case.

Cheers rheumatoid

Yes it is - but it dropped about 11.00pm - AND I used the LOWERVAT code to reduce the price further!

Only if think people will buy a brick sized Touch with half the battery life. There is a reason why it uses flash.

Sorry it's a little off topic but when do you think the i-phone 32gbs will be able to be purchased for around £350 without a contract?

I'm holding off on buying an ipod because I want the iphone, but I'm not paying the £600+ theyre going for on ebay.
