Credit to dodgymix for posting the voucher code :)

BTW, if you know where you can get it cheaper, please post a link below as I haven't ordered yet myself - cheers!

+ 0.5% quidco - well it all helps!
#3
Currys are doing 10% off - so £152 - 10% = £136.80

BUT you have to spend £1,000 to get the discount :w00t:

There is no such thing as the 8Gb 3rd Gen btw. Its just the same as the older 2nd Gen version.

The 16Gb and 32Gb have the faster processor, ram, GPU etc. The 8Gb doesn't.

The difference is the software on it

If you were to "jailbreak" a 3rd gen you cant turn it off without having to jailbreak again, with 2nd gen you can turn it off and on as many times as you like.

So yes, there is a difference

Excuse my ignorance, what is to "jailbreak"?

Daughter wants an iPod Touch for her Birthday. Given that 8gb is probably enough storage, would I still be better buying a larger capacity model for the faster processor? Thanks.

And hot deal btw.

Don't forget Quidco.

M&S are offering a 2yr guarantee but it's £149 for the iPod.

These discount codes do not work with the Ipod Touch :(

But the Price differs for Polished Aluminium & Black isn't it?

Are you sure you have that info right ?

I have a 2nd Gen ITouch that's Jailbroken with Blackra1n and it's tethered.

How do you untether a 2nd gen Itouch (turn it off & on) without having to re-jailbreak it ? :?

thanks.

I think you would have to re-jailbreak it with something other than blackra1n.
Maybe with redsn0w.

Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPhone / iPod Touch to run any code they wish, as opposed to locked devices that only allow code to be run that is authorized by Apple. Basically it means they can do whatever they want with the device, rather than what Apple deem fit.

Jailbreak is a term to "hack" into your ipod/iphone.
Google the term to find out more about it if you are interested.

What's the point of having an 8gb one? ridiculous price, and you end up with a ******* 2nd gen hardware (lower powered processor, severely lower powered graphics chip) and only a software update?

It's a good price for what it is and not everyone needs masses of storage or plays games on it. I have an 8GB one and a MiFi dongle and can access my home computer on the move. So if I want to download new torrents or set up a t.v recording whilst away from home I can. I also have full access to my 4TB NAS media collection and can watch any film/t.v show on the move all without having to convert my XVID's or MKV's first- all the encoding is done on the fly . There's 2 reasons for this model and I have plenty more

Few pounds cheaper than the normal Amazon price so not bad not exactly spectacular price.

You are right....for someone who downloads torrent's still, you wouldn't have a problem with old technology.

but really....torrents?
#26
Much better value compared with the DS. You have much better games, that are cheaper and down-loadable. Oh plus you have and iPod included. Oh and everything else the AppStore can give you.

Hmmm...if i press the power button on the top once it goes into a standby off state ......but if i push and hold the power button it goes into a hard off state and needs to be re-jailbroken again with blackra1n......maybe redsn0w is the way to untether it.... as said above ....:?

So what is madonnaproject suggesting you buy instead ?
