2 years old and over 1000, i would find a deal on ebay instead. I'M A MACBOOK PRO OWNER, NOT AN APPLE HATER

Good price, would definitely buy if it was easier to upgrade to a SSD drive, looked at the videos to do this and decided not to risk it.

Google the software to see what it does.

I think you should Google it yourself as you don't appear to understand what Parallels actually is.
It's just a Hypervisor (virtualization Host) so it still requires that you own and install a licensed copy of Windows.
So you are still running Windows which is what you were questioning the need for.

I'm aware of what it is and the difference between dual booting and using a Hypervisor but I still can't see what point you are attempting to make!
If you want to use Windows on this you'll need media and a license regardless of which route you take so what exactly is your point?
