Apple iPad Case - £19.99 Delivered @ Comet

Just spotted this when I was in the store. Most places still sell this for £30. Goes well with my new iPad and I'm sure will come in handy for all these people buying iPads. Buy online or collect instore and Quidco as well. Vinny

is this a good case
#4
Yeah its a really nice case with good protection

Went and picked up my iPad from my local comet yesturday and the sales guy tried to sell me one of these for £30 which was the price instore. I politely refused as I know I can get one off ebay or somewhere else for cheaper. Glad I refused now as i've just reserved one from the same store for £19.99 now :)

Wonder what the sales guy will say when I go to pick it up :p

just been into comet @ Merry Hill, they are priced at £31.00, took one to the till an came up at 19.99. great find
#7
They offered me one of these at the till in Croydon on Friday for £19.99 (along with the plastic film covers for £14.99 - you what!), refused the film covers which can be bought for a few quid and refused the case (as I didn't know if it was any good) then they knocked another 20% off the case to make it £15.99 so I got it.

Should be worth a haggle.

GREAT CASE - DOES GET DIRTY VERY EASILY THOUGH

looking at reviews on youtube, they say once you start to use it as stand a few times the lid never seems to lay flat on the screen when closed.

anyone like to comment?

Nice on just reserved....!

Personally prefer the Griffin Passport case as it doesn't obscure the bezel as much but this is still a good price. Heat Added.

Case was lovely, but let down by two things:

1. Ipad will not sit on an official apple dock with the case on,

2. The bottom of the case slightly overlaps the home button.

Not brilliant considering its an apple product. I hoped that they would design everything to work together.

Still good for 20 quid though
#13
ipad 2 compatible?
#14
Good cases, got one with mine the other week...
#15
These are poor. I only use it because it came with my iPad. They get dirty easily and stain. There's little to no shock/drop protection and considering it's made by Apple the fit isn't all that fantastic either. On the upside it's thin, doesn't add much to the dimensions of the iPad at all.

I wouldn't buy another. Might replace it with a new one come iPad 2 time, I'm sure there'll be more cheap iPad 1 cases doing the rounds over the coming days/weeks.

Been using mine for a year now, no problems with it closing, use it every day. Downside as has been said, it can become marked over time and offers no shock protection if dropped. What it's good for is using around the house, the cover protects the finish of the iPad especially the glass screen and a damp cloth with a drop of detergent resurrects the appearance.

ipad 2 compatible?

nope, the new covers look much better anyway
#23
Got one for my new ipad; as mentioned little physical shock protection and isnt a perfect fit as u would expect from a apple product but looks smart and covers the screen adequatly if traveling with it in a backpack for eg

ive used these on my iphone and they are the best by far

you get 2 aswell
#25
Reason this is going so cheap is because its old stock and wont work very well with the new iPad 2 as it is thinner and has cameras which this case doesn't have the holes for.

is this a good case

Not worth the money at all. I bought my ipad last year and refused to spend £30 on the cover, so bought a Logic3 leather cover for £10 instead. Later that year my brother got himself an ipad and bought the genuine cover with it. What a waste of money. It's really hard and looks cheap comparing to my £10 wallet :-)

Great find - paid £30 in Argoose for this a few months back.

Thanks Bigup. I have found some PET static/silicone ones on ebay for a couple of quid. I would probably have settled for them for a small screen but presumably there is a big difference in clarity for the £14 ones? I don't want to make the ipad screen look dull.

every screen protector does the same job, but be careful always go for pet quality, you can have a mirror finish, a private finish too that cost more of cos.. i got off ebay the sellers give me 2 i only need one, which is bonus but if you mess up the first time applying then the second one can be used. only cost 1.70 inc delivery for 2 screen protector for the ipad maybe cheaper if you willing to wait or you can goto poundland get for only 1.

the phonedevils come in 2 different types, one is crystal clear and the other is matte anti-reflective.

they really are the best i have used, ive just ordered one for me ipad, so will report back when it arrives.
#31

i have a matte for iphone4 but have gone for crystal for the ipad as i fancied a change.

you can also buy from them through Amazon aswell.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s?ie=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=computers&field-keywords=PhoneDevil

plenty of reviews for both
#33
The reviews do look fantastic. I too fancy a clear. As great as the anti-glare is, I think the idea of it being 'invisible' appeals so the ipad keeps the clarity. Should get on and order really as would like to put it on straight away.

Very cool case. Have gone for http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003M5VW7K/ref=oss_product but may get a leather 'book' style one as well. Look forward to hearing what you think of it all.

Thanks.

Thanks to the OP. Picked up one of these Apple cases for £19.99 from Comet in Crewe this weekend. They probably had a dozen or so on the shelf.

Just need my iPad (original one at knock down price) to turn up now! Dabs.com is the devils internet retailer!
