Good Price.
However, yes, it's £90 cheaper than a NEW one from Apple, but only £40 cheaper than a REFURB from Apple (or £30 cheaper for the white)

People vote like sheep too. If there is a downward trend they hit cold.

The only thing that bothers me about this deal is

"12 month Tesco Outlet warranty

Please note - Batteries are a consumable item and may need to be replaced within the lifetime of the product. Batteries that have been tested to ensure they hold a charge however we cannot guarantee that the manufacturers advertised maximum battery life can be achieved."

Does this mean you can not use the guarentee for the genius bar as they are brilliant and I assume that the Tesco Outlet Warranty means return to base.

for this reason its cold from me as my experience has shown that £40 extra for an Apple warranty is money well spent

I assume these are not the same as apple refurbs ie new battery case etc?
I got an argo refursh a year or so back - clearly just a return but a great bargain - so a litlle pot luck from tesco outlet - but yo can always return

Yes, it seems like for £30 more direct from Apple you get a brand new battery and outer casing. The listing says that there may be scratches (major scratches if grade C), which is holding me back from jumping. Also you can now get it for £260 brand new on eBay/Amazon. Plus I keep hearing how 16gb storage is not really enough- dilemma.

I would personally go for 32gb, as you have to keep deleting stuff on a 16gb

I agree bit of a lottery but as already said just return if not happy. I got MacBook Pro Retina refurb from Argos a month ago, still sealed, manager special label on the box. £300 cheaper than at Apple's refurb store.

No, you won't be able to take this to the genius bar for the whole year.

This will have a warranty with Apple from when it was first sold. That could've been launch date - or it could have been last week. Also, Tesco need to stop using the phrase refurbished, it's not. It's a reboxed customer return. Tesco don't have the ability to refurbish an iPad.

I have actually just submitted an ASA complaint about their eBay stores - they're selling used products and calling them refurbs.

Wiki thinks their use of refurbished is fine:

Refurbishment is the distribution of products (usually electronics) that have been previously returned to a manufacturer or vendor for various reasons. Refurbished products are normally tested for functionality and defects before they are sold.

With tesco's, however, they're selling them as "Manufacturer refurbished" - e.g. suggesting they've been refurbished by Apple, which they haven't.

If you want piece of mind on the warranty you could take out Apple Care for £32.99 from Argos which will cover you for two years from the original purchase date http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331263227271

And the Apple Care comes from Argos with a 12 month warranty of its own... :-S

People who worry and moan about heat are annoying. Did you beg for heat in your post?

Just to say mine arrived today, the box had the odd bump but then it had been sent via parcelforce in just a bag but the iPad mini itself was in perfect condition not a mark.
